Next Gen may very well be the best gen!
“I’m never sleeping with anyone else unless I see their ID.” – Aiden BrooksShelli Adler has Been in love with Aiden Brooks since she was a little girl, however with their age difference, she didn’t think Aiden would ever reciprocate that love. On Shelli’s last night in New York, Aiden finally gives her the time of day, the only problem is, he doesn’t actually know who she is. As luck would have it, the two are both headed back to Nashville since Aiden was traded to the Nashville Assassins, the team he has dreamed of playing for all of his life. When Aiden realizes that Shelli was the girl from New York the drama hits the fan. As the two try and navigate their way through this budding relationship, they worry about what their families will think. All bets are off when their parents find out, but the question still remains, can Aiden be who Shelli needs and let go of insecurities, or will he lose her forever?First and foremost, I have been impatiently waiting for Shelli and Aiden for many years. Pretty much since Shelli was writing Shelli Brooks in her notebooks. That’s how long I’ve been waiting. With much anticipation, I stopped in the middle of the book I was reading as soon as this ARC dropped on my kindle. And I’ll be honest with you, I was scared to read this book. I was scared that I had built the love story between these two up in my head, and therefore how could it ever live up to my expectations. I don’t even know why I thought that. Toni delivered, what I feel, is one of her best books to date. The chemistry between Aiden and Shelli jumped off the pages and left me turning the pages begging for more. I will also say, that Shea and Lucas jumped up the ladder in my favorites because of this book as well. The secondary characters played such an integral part of this book, and I was super excited that we got to catch up with everybody in the Adler and Brooks clans.

Bring on the next generation!
For those of us who have been reading Toni Aleo's Assassins series from the beginning, this is a book that you are going to instantly love and for those who might be picking her book up for the first time, you'll get to know some of Toni's most loved characters in the Adler and Brooks families.Dump and Chase is the story of Shea and Elli Adler's oldest daughter, Shelli, and Lucas and Fallon Brooks' eldest son, Aiden. Shelli has been crushing on Aiden since she was eleven years old and as she's gotten older her feelings haven't waned in the least. The only problem is Aiden didn't pay her any mind back in the day. She wanted him to really see her and he never did. Now though, it may be a very different story after they meet up at a party in New York and hook up. The only thing is once again he doesn't really see her. He doesn't even recognize her.Shelli has decided she's ready to leave Broadway and so she's made the decision to head back home to Nashville and after the party she's even happier to be heading that way. As irony would have it, Aiden has been traded to his hometown hockey team, the Assassins, which has always been his dream and now it's coming true. With the two of them back in the same town, it's inevitable their paths are going to cross again and as they are around one another more and more, you can see that there is definitely a connection between them. With many ups and downs, misunderstandings and some unwanted, and unsolicited advice from their families, these two attempt to figure out if there is something between them. With sparks flying it's hard to believe there isn't!I absolutely loved this book and all of the people in it. It was great to see our favorites from the original Assassins series and Shelli has grown up to be a strong, fierce woman and Aiden has become the hockey player he wanted to be and he's working on becoming the man he wants to be. I'm excited to see where this next generation takes us in this series!

I love The Assassins series, but this was a disappointment
It pains me to give a Toni Aleo book such a low rating because I really love her works & I was so looking forward to the kids from the original Assassins series growing up. BUT Shelli was a whiny poor little rich girl who gets everything handed to her while constantly being told how pretty she is & Aiden uses women while acting hatefully to his brother that he's supposedly close to. I kept waiting for Aiden to have a big epiphany or change to be a better man, but it never happened. Honestly, I really couldn't find anything likable or redeeming in either character. Aiden is trashing Shelli to his teammates in the locker room when she walks in with her parents but SHE is told that she's over-reacting for being hurt, SHE needs to let it go, SHE needs to apologize, she should know he didn't mean it. WTH??? In abusive relationships, that's called "gaslighting" & there's not a damn thing romantic about an H treating the h that way in a romance book.

5 Next Gen Stars
Dump and Chase was the first book in the Nashville Assassins: Next Generation series by Toni Aleo. I was seriously excited to see that there was going to be Next Gen Series and I was even more excited that it was going to be Shelli Adler's story who was the eldest daughter to Ellie and Shea Adler (Book 1 of Nashville Assassins, Taking Shots) and Aiden Brooks who was the son of Lucas and Fallon Brooks (Book 2 of Nashville Assassins, Trying to Score).I really loved this story and I loved The Adler and Brooks families they were crazy and fun and reminded me a little of my own family. Always in each other’s business but in the end of the day just wanting everyone to be happy and on the right path in life. Yes there where a few things in this book that I didn't really like but the greatness outshine these small things.“The truth is, punkin’, everybody can hurt you, but you gotta find the one worth hurting for. The one who may hurt you but will love you even harder. We’re human. We make mistakes. It happens.”This was a raw, emotional and very sexy read. Such a great start to what will hopefully be an amazing new series by Toni Aleo.

Perfection
This book is perfection. If you loved the Assassin series you will love this continuation into the next generation of Assassins. As always the book is well written and pulls you into the story right away. I remember the first time I read Shea and Ellie's story I was crying toward the end of the book, so invested in the characters that I couldn't fathom them not being together. Once again Ms Aleo has managed to get me so invested in these characters that I was crying and begging for a happy ending. As the story comes full circle I can't help but feel that this is just the beginning of a new era and I am so excited to read more!

I love all the assassins books but this is one of my favourites because it brings back old characters so you can see how their lives planned out . I also loved the new characters in this book and will continue to read both this series and the ice cats series they are both brilliant
