Worth every cent!
The last thing I wanted was a "corn cob" style light due to aesthetics. Even with that considered, I would buy this lamp again in a heart beatHowever, the primary factors I needed were color temperature, CRI, and lumen output. I have some vision problems myself but due to my occupation (+10 yrs as a professional photographer) and highly technological and inquisitive nature, there are a lot of characteristics regarding the human visions system I'm familiar with.I have a family member who has more detrimental vision problems than myself and this is a reading lamp for them. It is slightly dimmer than preferred (I don't inherently trust lumen ratings, but I trust power ratings), but I was expecting that. The lack of a diffuse material over the LEDs means less light blocked along with some funny shadows, which can be lived with. A lamp with a 4000-4500 K CCT typically has a spectral power distribution that fits very well with photopic vision and blends nicely with mesopic vision too. As such, this was the primary factor in buying the lamp. It's CRI is about 84 according to the marketing material and 2300 lumens @ 20 watts is 115 lm/W efficacy. This is lower than their claimed 120-130 lm/W, but that would be a per-LED device rating while ignoring the power supply (driver) efficiency so I have some trust in it.After a couple of weeks, I would have preferred a 25W version of the lamp, or 30W diffused, but this doesn't quiet exist. I've tried over lamps that project upwards into a hemispherical dome, but they don't thrown enough light down in a standard desk lamp form factor. This one is bright enough that it'll suffice for a number of years and replaces a 200W incandescent that was previously being used.

Made a huge difference in illuminating outside porch compared to previous light we used....
Did not fit my porch light due to the porch light receptacle design, so tried it on another socket to check if it's working. It was and it is pretty bright...Brought it to church with me couple days ago and we put it on the outside porch after lunch time.We came back later in the evening and saw the huge difference this light made compared to the previous light that was used. It really illuminated the place. Was not able to take good pics as it was freezing outside...Would also be better if they can come up with a motion sensored light as bright as this, would help save on cost for small churches like ours....

Super bright and well made
Have only used it for a few hours so far, but so far so good. I replaced a 65 watt coil type CFL bulb of the same color temperature with this bulb. I use this in a storage/weight room, so it might be on for two minutes to access the storage part of the room or an hour or so when using weights. The big thing I hated about the CFL bulb is that it took about 3 to 5 minutes to get to full brightness and when first turned on it would be at about a third of full brightness which stunk when accessing storage. When comparing the CFL having warmed up to this LED bulb, I would have to guess that this LED bulb is at least twice as bright. I don't have a Lumen meter, so I can't say with numbers. I just took note of how things looked in the room before and after changing to the LED bulb. It is a big bulb, but so was the 65 watt CFL it replaced. I have a high ceiling in this room, so it really is not an issue. Light coverage is perfect from the bulb and 4000K is great for a room like this.

4k soft but SUPER BRIGHT, 4600 lumens!!
This 40 Watt bulb, being used as a porch light, wards off any would be "problem people" all evening long.It worked out so well, I purchased their 60 Watt bulb for our back yard.___________________________________________Review left for the 60Watt:This 60 watt bulb was delivered yesterday. IT IS SO BRIGHT. I love it. It completely illuminates our ENTIRE back yard and the 4k color temperature is perfect. 4k is a softer, more natural color. 5-6k is the super bright, can't look at the light, nearly blue color temperature. What really matters is the lumens (6900!). Again, 4000 is perfect.I purchased your 60 watt for our back yard after purchasing your 40 watt for our front porch.I love your products. Thank you for helping me to keep my family safe while we sleep (can't put a price tag on that).Update:According to: [...] color temperatures of about 7,625 Kelvins to 4,458 Kelvins will most likely attract more mosquitoes than you would like - 3,000 Kelvin light is invisible to insects - the color of the emitted light will be the attractant not the heat that it emits - Chose bulbs that emit light that either is around 8,000 Kelvins or higher or around 4,100 Kelvins or less and you should be able to enjoy outdoors without attracting more insects like mosquitoes.

MY GOD I have seen the light
This is the craziest light bulb on the planet. I looked at it for a second and I paid for it. Everything else in my life feels a bit dimmer now. I used this on my floor lamp that used to hold a 42 watt CFL bulb and this LED bulb makes the CFL bulb look like a bulb for peasants. If God were a light bulb, I now know that he would be an LED bulb. No ballast bypass was required, I just used this on a floor lamp from target. AMAZING. Hopefully it will last a while. The bulb does have a fan in it and you do hear it but it's not terribly distracting or anything. This bulb exceeded my expectations greatly. Make sure your lamp shade is HUGE because this thing is surprisingly large.

It works so far
This product works. I thought it was going to be a lot brighter but it does it's job. Using it as supplemental lighting in the middle of plants. The LED company however has sent me 5 emails asking me for reviews which I consider spam and do not appreciate. I've had the light for 3 weeks and I review items after I've used them sufficiently. Once I have used this light and tested its capabilities long enough, I will update this review. I think I may upgrade to a higher wattage as well.

Warmer than most, very bright.
This is a great bulb, plenty of light and fairly warm compared to others. Don’t want to create a fake daylight situation for birds and insects. That said it lights our rear entrance and parking pad well.
