Excellent Quality & Value
I just installed this in my car after using the AC power to check it out inside the house. I'm very impressed with what you get for less than $200 nowadays. The picture quality is really very good. There's some degradation when attaching the second as a slave unit via the included cord, but your kids won't notice or complain. I also experimented with playing episodes of Lost from an iPod on the unit, which worked flawlessly. I already had an A/V cord that split the signal from 3.5mm connector that fits in the headphone jack of the iPod into yellow (video) and red & white (right and left audio, then the included Phillips cord brings it back from 3 to 1 to fit into the 3.5mm "A/V In" port on the unit. You might even be able to use the cord that attaches the two units together to go from iPod to one unit, I haven't tried that...Perhaps I should have read the description better before ordering, but I didn't realize I was getting two screens that EACH have a DVD player built-in. Since we have only one child presently, this allowed us to install a unit in each car. I ordered a second car adapter for $12 on Amazon, so there'll be nothing that has to transfer between vehicles, other than our son and car seat, of course. Our guy is still facing backwards, and the unit secures safely to the face of the rear headrest. The DC cord is plenty long enough to run to the hatch of our SUV's where we plug them in and keep the wires out of the way. Sound quality and volume out of the speakers are great. The Case Logic PDVD9 accommodates both screens and the cords very nicely. This is a must-have if you want to protect the units as you move them between cars and in/out of the car if you park in some sketchy areas.Really pleased with the purchase. Can't speak for longevity, but a 1-yr warranty on a product like this seems pretty darn good, given the potential temperature extremes and bumpy rides the units may be subjected to.

Good system for the price
We used these on an 1100-mile round trip and they worked great. They take about 3 minutes to install and uninstall (we only had them installed for the long-drives, took them off in between).Pros:- easy to install- much cheaper than the $2,200 theater option when we purchased our car.- lets you play 2 movies at once.- portable and can be moved from car to car, etc.Cons:- as with any portable player, the worry about them getting stolen (and a thief breaking a window to do it). We only let the kids watch on long trips anyway, so they're stored in our house in between.- the potential for getting tangled in wires (power & headphone) when the kids are getting in and out of the car (wasn't a problem, but needed to warn them to watch out). This again tends to be a drawback for any portable player, except if a more technical person hardwires the power.- When the player is switched to "off" but the power is still plugged in, the screens are black but still sort of glow - some confusion from the kids from time to time about whether the player was turned on or off.General:- the screens on these players are adequate, not great (certainly not like all of the "HD" & "Theater Quality" and "Retina Display" gadgets out there). Think about the VGA laptop you were using in 2005 - it's like that. The kids didn't seem to notice or mind - the quality was good enough for them.- The DVD's don't have a motorized ejection slot like you see in some DVD players. Instead, there's a mechanical switch that opens the player itself, after which you reach in and take the DVD out by hand. The kids had a little bit of trouble getting used to it at first, since it's a mechanical switch (i.e., you're opening the latch with the power of your hand, not any sort of assisted thing) - but in the end they were able to work it fine (7 and 10 years old - much younger kids might not be able to open these themselves). The kids also need to be carefully shown how to remove the DVD without bending it.Conclusion - the players do what they say they will, are worth at least what they cost, and I'd buy them again.

Great entertainment for a cheap price!
5 stars for overall value!First of all I purchased a used set from Amazon... yes, you can get better deals by purchasing used, but in like new condition items. With the same return policy and warranty as a new unit! For the price we paid I was able to put a 9" TV/DVD combo unit in my truck and my wife's car. The supplied belt strap allows you to mount it firmly and securely to the two metal headrest bards on the front seat (facing back of course). I originally purchased a mounting bracket that was cumbersome and bulky... I should have just tried to use the strap in the first place... but I had to learn the "long way" that the supplied strap works extremely well. So before purchasing any fancy brackets just try the strap out first on the headrest... and pull it very tight so it is mounted very solid. The TV does not move at all... the strap can be tightened that tight. We have used the TV in a hospital too... my grandmother passed away recently. My toddler needed to be entertained as we had to deal with that situation. The TV comes with a wall power plug too... so we removed the TV from the car and plugged it in the waiting room of the hospital. A couple of my son's favorite Disney DVD's and this TV truly helped us cope with a hard situation. So kudos on this unit being that portable.Features... you can go round and round on features. Just know that this kit has everything you need for being "on the go". The basic functions work very well (volume, no DVD skipping, easy to use the controls, mounting, etc). For the price it was a great purchase for us... it has been helpful in entertaining our son even in difficult situations.Good luck with your purchase! I hope this review is helpful.
