Round Magnetic Pin Cushion Sewing Pin Holder Pin Caddy Storage Case Sewing Tool - Pink

I have had another one for close to 20 years (from JoAnn Fabric) and it finally fell and broke. Bought this one as a replacement, assumed it would be the same. It is not. My original had stronger magnets and a lower plate under the magnets to increase the field. This one was made out of cheaper plastic and the lower magnets have no bottom plate. The result is that the pins are not as securely on the surface as I am used to. If it falls or drops a short distance (I am talking mere inches) pins scatter. They didn't use to do that with my previous one.

Since I'm just getting back into sewing after many years, I needed to resupply all of my accessories including my pin holder. I had previously purchased one of those cute stuffed apple thingys but the pins were too hard to stick in. So I opted for this magnetic holder. So glad I did! The magnet really holds the pins in place yet they are easy to pick up when you need to use them. As I take my pins out of my fabric while sewing I simply place them on the magnetic pin holder and don't have to worry that they're going to fall on the floor.

Love this idea, wish I would have found these years ago. It keeps all my hairpins all together and soo easy to pick up off the holder instead of trying to grab from inside the drawer. I got pink and it is a great color, could even keep it on the counter cause it is such a pretty pink. Good value, great idea, shipped quick and very satisfied with this purchase.

I've bought two of these, I like them so much. They hold a ton of pins, magent is super strong. Heavy enough to use as a fabric weight as I pin but light enough to slide across the table. I even toss pins toward it from 3-4 feet away and, assuming my aim is good, it snatches them up easily. My kids like waving it across the floor or table as it easily scoops up spilled pins from above when held about 2-3 inches over the table/floor.

The picture and description of this product said it was a ROUND magnetic pin cushion. Instead, I received a SQUARE item. I returned it and asked for a replacement -- the second one was also square. The description on the label on the cellophane package said round, but it was clearly square. If I had wanted square, I would have ordered it. I gave up after the second time and asked for a refund. I will find a round one somewhere else.
