I haven't used them yet to groom my cats but they fit well and were very comfortable. They should be very functional and easy to use to save my skin from my cat's claws and teeth. My one cat lets me brush and groom him without too much trouble but the other cat might need held down so my husband or myself can wear these for protection. He bucks like a horse and is a biter. They appear waterproof if I decide to give them a bath.

These gloves were very helpful in my process of socializing a feral cat. My hands were spared a lot of damage. My main criticism is that the black part of the gloves (on the back of the hand) do not provide adequate protection. I didn't get any scratches on my palm but my cat's claws were able to penetrate the black cloth if she ever swiped at the back of my hand. No major damage, just a couple of small nicks.

Thin enough to retain dexterity but made so teeth and claws won't penetrate, these gloves are fantastic. I have a cat that attacks my other cats, I had to hold her down and use a pet shaver to shave her throat to fit a shock collar in order to shape her behavior.I wish I could have taken a picture of her expression when she slammed her teeth into my hand - as she's so often done - and bit down so hard her jaw shook, all while raking her hind claws into my forearm to absolutely zero affect... and then looked up at me like "uh oh". I laughed in her face and just held her there, carefully and gently shaved her neck, fit the shock collar and then picked her up and put her in the cat carrier to cool down. I could for the first time calmly close the door while she lunged at my fingers as I worked the latch, no big deal.

So helpful and necessary for dealing with a teething puppy.

They worked ok for bathing my kitty but they're not waterproof and bleed some dye when initially wet. I recommend rinsing them thoroughly before washing your pet so as not to get dye on the fur. I had to rinse and wash my cat twice because of this. They become waterlogged, too... so, not waterproof. They're adequate scratch and bite resistant for a kitten but not very protective beyond that. Overall, they helped me get the job done and I've got a nice clean kitty now.

These gloves were just what I needed. I had several stray cats (10) in my back yard that I fed. They became very demanding at feeding time and would scratch my hand up when I tried to put the large plate down which would feed six cats. So I would do it twice a day. Then my arm and hand was getting so scratched and marked up that I wanted to stop feeding them. They wear tearing my screen door up climbing up and down on it like the crazy cats they were. Well, I ordered these gloves and it was the best investment I ever made. I was in control now. Even the cats were shocked. They scratched and all the yelling stopped. 4 days later it snowed in my backyard. After feeding these cats for 10 months, they all disappeared and never returned when the snow melted 2 days later. This is how my story ends! Great gloves......

I have one cat that acts like I'm chopping his toes off when I trim his nails. He gets hard to control and bites. These gloves have lots of dexterity in the fingers enough so I can still operate the clippers, and the material is strong enough that the cat can bite all he wants and I don't feel a thing.
