What Is That? Board book – September 15, 1994

This book is just what I was looking for to stimulate my 2 month old granddaughter.She would reach out for these pages and her eyes followed them as the book was moved slowly by her. Great book for the infant!

The images are not as interesting, baby doesn't like it as much as Black on White. Black on White is a better value being double sided as well.

What else more is there to say? Black and White shapes, Babies LOVE them. My little one still enjoys this book and he is 9 months now. He picks this one and the Peter Linenthal book "Look, Look" before any of the other ones we have. Only thing I noticed with Hoban is the repeat of the duck shape in this book and another one.

My baby was really stimulated by the book. The additional color of bright red was an extra bonus. We used it during tummy time, mommy's meal time, as well as reading time.

As someone who believes strongly in the importance of high contrast visual stimulation for infants, I love this book. When my sons were newborn infants, we had a lot of fun watching their little eyes open wide with interest when we showed them the high contrast pictures. I strongly recommend it for newborns and up to 1 year. I include a copy of this book in all my baby gifts. (Older children likely will find it less interesting.)

Really boring - just one picture per page, some of them unrecognizable. Neither of my kids ever cared about this book. There are other much better and interesting black/white/red ones than this.
