great value, beautiful yarn
I love whirls. Whirls are a fine weight yarn that gradually change color throughout the cake. They are so soft. These were on sale when I ordered them and they were well worth the price. While the yarn is pretty fine, 1000 m goes a long way. I personally tend to cut and retie at the knots that happen at the color change, but you don't have to, the knots are strong enough. There is a large enough amount of yarn to make a top; two can make a cardigan. These are also big enough to make a baby blanket.

Great quality!
Always great to work with a scheepjes whirl product. These cakes are so well done! Great quality cotton yarns, colors are bold and continuous throughout. Very few mistakes in the yardage so far as maybe an occasional faulty Russian join which happens from time to time, easily fixable. Love when I can pick these up at a good price, Amazon is a great place to do that. The yarn washes well and is comfortable not scratchy, an over all quality fine weighted yarn.

Beautiful yarn, very thin but easy to work with!
This made a beautiful shawl! I used a 5mm hook, even with this being very thin, maybe fingering weight. But it turned out so pretty!! It was really big, though. I had a little bit leftover even after making a really big shawl. I was very happy with this yarn! I tried the scheepjes yarn first, and I loved it but yarn art is a bit cheaper so I wanted to try that one out too and compare the two. In my opinion, the color transition was smoother on the scheepjes whirl yarn, and I was more of a fan of the feel of the scheepjes I think, but that’s really just personal preference. The scheepjes is 60% cotton/ 40% acrylic, where the yarn art is 55% cotton/ 45% acrylic. The yarn art is a bit softer I think but I preferred the 60/40 blend of the scheepjes slightly more. However, I do absolutely love both of these yarns and I will probably purchase both again. I got the Tangerine Tambourine color in this yarn and orange is not typically a color I go for but I was making this for my sister in law, and orange is her favorite color. Even though I don’t normally care for orange, I think this shawl turned out to be absolutely gorgeous!! In my opinion, it was worth spending the extra money over competitor brands because the quality is really great.

Super soft and beautiful gradient
I LOVE this yarn, I only have one problem, if you are wanting to work from the inside to the outside, as the yarn gets closer to the outside, it gets tangled and knotted.

This is wonderful yarn. It is easy to work with and I love the lightweight texture.
I first bought a cake of the Lavenderlicious color and made a shawl for myself from that. It was actually my first crochet project and it came out wonderfully. I loved the fact that the yarn was 1000 meters and you did not have to splice it in yourself. The color changes are very gradual. There are 6 distinct colors in the skein, and the way that they change is 1 or 2 threads at a time, so the change is so subtle that it flows very nice from one color to the next. As you can see in the pictures, one picture shows where one color starts to change into the next, and you can see that the threads change. They have one end and another start, and they are kind of felted in but it is not really noticeable. The pictures with the yellow highlighting shows where the thread changes have been worked in and how it looks in the stitches. The other two pictures are of the finished project and show how gradual the color change is and how great the overall look of the yarn is. The yarn is 6 strand and it is about as thick as embroidery floss, although it is not as glossy or slick. It is very easy to work with and the yarn did not slip or pull. I have had the shawl finished for 10 months and I wear it regularly and it does not have any pills on it. It is in great shape. It has not pulled out of shape or shrunk. I loved working with this one so much that when I finished this project I made a shawl for my daughter-in-law and then one for my mother out of two other colors (both of which are currently not available any longer). I am also getting ready to order another one to make another shawl for myself, as I want one in the Tasty-Nom-Nom color to go with some of my other outfits. I would recommend this yarn to anyone. It will take more yarn than regular yarn, as the butterfly pattern shawl that I did has 16 rows and a border, and some people that used "normal" yarn had the same size shawl with only 7 rows due to the size difference in the yarn. It is also lighter weight than "normal" yarn due to this, so take this into account, however, the 1000 meter cake was sufficient to complete my shawl with very little left over. (My son pointed out that I am wearing a Kilometer of yarn that I crocheted). Projects of course take longer due to the smaller size yarn also, unless this is the size required. I used a size 3.5mm E crochet hook with this yarn.

Woefully misrepresented in description
An outrageous amount of money was spent to purchase this product. I was looking for an ombre-like color changing effect. It was described as yarn (Part cotton and part acrylic.) The colour palette is beautiful. But, this is not yarn... it is slightly fuzzy crochet thread - nothing "yarn-y" about it. The colors do not change naturally. I quote from the label,"Each colour change is tied in an optimum way to ensure the knot can be discretely hidden within your stitches." I can't give the product a true rating because the description is erroneous (I can't denounce nor praise it.) As of now, it is unopened and has not been used for crocheting.) I think that I will be sending this one back. You now can make a decision if this is really the product you want or need for your handmade projects.
