Stainless Steel Barconic Nutmeg Grater

I like the gauge of the stainless steel and the compartment to hold the nutmeg. It’s professional grade.

Works as described. The little drawer for storing nuts is a plus!

I grate nutmeg into my morning cup of kefir, so I use this every day. My first nutmeg grater, inherited from my mother, lasted over 3 decades. My second, purchased from Amazon, lasted less than a year before it became too dull. This one's my third. So far it seems better built and likely to function longer than my second one. My only nitpick is that instead of a flip top lid in the section where I keep the nutmeg, it is a separate piece that completely detaches. And while this means it won't break as I imagine the attached tin ones likely do in the standard model, if you forget it's detachable, you may inadvertently toss your nutmeg into the top only to have it fall right through. A silly mistake I only made once (right into my kefir, but I did prefer an attached lid. I'd give this 4.5 stars if that were an option.

This is a perfect size for my nutmeg, I use nutmeg a lot for cooking and baking and like that it freshly grated.

I had a Buffalini made with Buffalo Trace Bourbon and BT Bourbon Cream (equal parts shaken with ice) at Louisville’s Brown Hotel. Not to knock Buffalo Trace but I think it was the freshly grated nutmeg that put it over the top! Found this on Amazon along with whole nutmeg. It arrived quickly and my first test run was a success. Now if I could just replicate that Kentucky Hot Brown…
