Gorgeous images, but a very big, very hefty item
My rating is for the quality of the lens, its manufacture and the images it can generate. Incredibly high quality. Personally, the weight and size ended up being a deal breaker for me, despite the lovely images it can take. I wish I had seen remarks about how bulky it is. It's an enormous lens, very bulky and heavy (over 1kg), heavier than the camera it was attached to (Canon 90D) - something not really apparent until you have it in your hands, navigating the act of taking pictures Professional photographers won't flinch at the lens size or weight if it gets the job done. For an amateur/enthusiast however, (in my opinion) since it was also very expensive and a prime, the unwieldy heft made it a risk for the easy-use, all-around lens as I'd hoped for. I wish I could justify it.

Dead on Arrival!
Most of the time Amazon Renewed is a great deal. Not this time! The Lens was dirty on both ends. When I mounted it on my camara, and turned it on, the body recognized the lense and acted like the Fstop was working. When I pointed it and depressed the shutter button the Spot Focuse lit but the lens did nothing. I tried several different ranges, nothing. I switched the lens to manual focus, nothing. Whoever Renewed this, tested this, packaged this and sold this didn't do or check squat! Vender like this are destroying the trust I have in Amazon. I will never buy anything from them again, and will probably think twice before buying gear from Amazon.

Love This Lens
I wish I had this lens a long time ago. And now I wish had more portraits to shoot. The capability to completely blur the background and get limited DOF is amazing compared with my zooms and other primes. I was not certain about taking advantage of the renewed option from Amazon, but in my case I have no complaints.

Renewed - not really
I took a chance on purchasing a renewed lens from Amazon, and I will never make that mistake again. The lens is in poor shape. The manual focus ring is so loose it impacts my sports photo’s sharpness every time. Sadly, I have added a tape strip to the ring to prevent destroying all my work. This will be the last piece of photography equipment I purchase from Amazon.
