This device was purchased for a very specific reason. My wife has Alzheimer's and tends to wander occasionally at night. Sometimes, although I'm a light sleeper, she goes downstairs, potters around and sometimes lets the dog out. This can result in an unlocked door, open fridge, lights on, etc. I needed to be alerted reliably when her movement is detected on the stairs so I can oversee her activity. This fills the bill admirably. Edit. Since first writing this, it has become critical to attend my wife if she attempts to get out of bed at night. By judicious placement and taping off the PIR window on either side and at the top, it now watches the side of the bed and should a leg appear from under the duvet, the alarm alerts me immediately. This has saved her from numerous falls and has become a godsend. I also have an alarm that is a push button worn around the neck, but it's of no use because she can't remember to push the button if assistance is needed. Alzheimer's is an evil disease. The detection angle of the PIR is very wide but can be reduced by adding vertical strips of insulating tape to narrow the sensor's beamwidth. Similarly, a scrap of tape can be used to cover the very bright red LED on the PIR. The only problem I encountered during absolutely minimal experimentation was volume setting, but as I want to ensure I'm wakened, even from the deepest of slumbers, I didn't mind its maximum setting on the noisiest choice of alarm tone. The remote is close to hand so once awake, it is soon silenced. At £19.99, it represents extremely good value for money as I could not have built an equivalent for anything like £20 in component cost alone.

This was a second attempt at a driveway PIR project. The first was an sensor that connected to a smartphone via wifi but had to be reset everty time the phone was taken away from the house. Thought I'd give this "old school" technology a try and it is robust, well made and works both reliably and perfectly. I particularly like the way that the volume on the receiving end can be controlled and the alert sound changed from a siren to something more like a door bell. The only thing I dislike (as some other reviewers have mentioned) is the red LED that flashes on the IR unit when it is activated as it it so bright. Shame it cannot be disabled (so that the batteries last longer) but masking tape - even a lump of BluTac - does the job to conceal it.

A nice alarm. I returned it only because it proved not suitable for my needs.

Costs a other £14 for batteries.

Perfect for my cat☺️ he’s outdoor cat so anytime he’s back alarm works perfectly, make sure change batteries for outside sensor every month otherwise alarm goes off all the time

Great lazer alarm

Came on time, easy to set up. Seemed to work great, the WIFI worked. Even though the sensor was meant to be able to be outside, I made sure that it was protected from any water ingress. I placed it in a plastic container and taped up the joints of the sensor. But then, in the first couple of days it appeared to give us a couple of false alarms. I put that down perhaps to a bird setting it off. Then a day or two later I forgot to shut it down, and yet, it didn't go off when I activated it. I investigated. It still didn't. I removed the batteries to reset the coupling of sensor and alarm. The sensor appeared to be activated, as it always appeared to do but, the alarm was not sounding no matter how close the two were to each other. I've decided to keep the sensor in place for the time being, because perhaps, perhaps, it could by some lucky chance deter. Not likely though. The idea is great but the application of the idea has been poor and unreliable. Update, I'm sending it back.

Seems to be working well so far but I'll only give it 4 stars because there's no way the sensor works up to 6 meters, more like 1 meter really! I wanted to have it at the end of the garage pointing to the entrance so that it detects anyone as soon as they open the door, but instead had to put it on the side wall instead pointing across the garage to the other side wall so that this way it can detect movement when they walk through the beam (if i put it at the far end it'll only detect movement if you get really close to it, so someone could grab things that are right by the door without being detected). It's really loud and easy to set-up, you just put batteries in it and it's ready to be used, the only advice that I can give when setting it up (if in a garage like me), is to make sure that it detects movement where you place the sensor, because it really isn't as sensitive as described. For the price it does a good job and it's better to have than not, and hopefully it'll be another deterrent for thieves that might gain access to your garage and your belongings.

Après avoir mis les piles l'appareil a commencé à surchauffer Vu que sa sentait le brûlé donc je les retourner chez amazon il devrait être mieux équipés vu que si a un problème avec les piles l'appareil ne fonctionne pas pour temps on voit des choses qui pourraient mettre en plus comme le câble Pour secteur Vu que lorsque on li ses pas vendu avec pour temps devrait mettre ton les choses qui explique mes qui sont pas vendus avec question écologique ses pas au top Vu que il pourrait juste faire les piles en cas de panne de courant mes mettre sur secteur

Acheté pour securiser une pièce contenant toutes les machines d'un chantier de rénovation à 3 maisons de chez moi, malgré les murs pleins des deux maisons. la maison est à plus de 60 m à vol d'oiseau et l'alarme se met en route instantanément chez moi dès que le détecteur s'active à cause d'un mouvement dans la maison distante. Je laisse l'alarme active (sur "on") depuis plus de 15 jours en coupant/activant l'alarme avec la télécommande, les piles tiennent jusqu'ici. Il serait bon de connaitre l'autonomie du détecteur et de la sirène. Très bon achat qui me rassure jusqu'ici

Cumple perfectamente para su cometido. El detector trae una luz infrarroja, que detecta a la perfeccion. La alarma la puedes poner donde quiereas, y se modula con varios ajustes de audio. Suficientemente fuerte. Un buen producto para su precio.

Zum angeln als Alarmanlage super Hat dauerregen und sehr viel Feuchtigkeit ausgehalten Ich als Karpfenangler habe teures zeug am Wasser und wer keinen Hund hat, empfehle ich dieses Teil. Hab es mit einen kleinen Spanngummi an einer Sturmstange befestigt, funktioniert wunderbar Schön wäre es , wenn es 2 Sender geben würde oder man separat einen 2. zukaufen kann Und der Sender hat keinen Ausschalter, das heißt sobald die Batterien drin sind , leuchtet er bei Kontakt immer wieder aber bei den Preis ist das meckern auf hohen Niveau Der Empfänger der auch den Ton wiedergibt kann man perfekt im Zelt irgendwo hinlegen. Es geht angenehm leise bis so laut das man aufjeden Fall wach wird und der ganze see warschdinlich auch Verschiedene Töne sind auch einstellbar . Fernbedienung funktioniert auch ohne Probleme und auch von weiter weg
