Author could take the time to elaborate more in crochet instructions
I am not a beginner but would not say Im a guru either. The author is from the UK so sometimes people not from the UK need to make sure there is no difference in stitches, or hooks size. Not every one is so experienced that they understand " four rounds straight"Or how it says to do 2 DC 2DCI 6 TIMES with 18 double crochets . Do we skip a stitch? What about the rest of the stitches left over untouched? Do we go to the next round? I did and it did not come out right.I have ordered a lot of crochet books and some of them explain exactly what the pattern is.The cactus with the bloom on it, it says make 18 rows and I did that and it came out too big so I looked at the picture and got rid of the extra rows and still don't understand where the 18 came from. Its like the author is skipping steps thinking all of us are going to know everything. My cactus with the bloom did come out good I had to do my own soil because I did not understand the pattern and even did net searches and watched videos. Also came across a few blogs about how it is hard to give instructions for crochet patterns and how a lot of people run into these issues.Im working on another one and will take pictures of all when I am done.

Plants that do not need water or light. Be ready to add more green to your yarn stash.
I made the cactus with a yellow flower on page 28 and a crocheted pot from page 138 to put it in. Instructions are well written and easy to follow. The book contains actual size photos of the succulents so you can easily see what your plant will look like when completed. I appreciate the yarn suggestions for each project. Even if I cannot get exact brand or color it helps if I have to purchase a substitute.

Highly recommended!
All the succulent patterns are really cute, and I’m finding them easy to understand so far. I’ve only been crocheting 2 months now, so I’m not familiar with all the stitches, but I found the diagram easy to follow and didn’t need to go watch a video to see it done.

UK terminology for patterns FYI
I love this book and the patterns are easy to follow but I wish I had realized it was in UK terminology before I started on my first succulent. Once I figured that out, it was fine!

So fun!
I just got this book today, I ordered it the first day it was available and have been waiting for it to arrive. Worth my excitement. Can't wait to start making all these delightful cactuses and succulents. The instructions look easy to follow and the photos are beautiful. The cute personality of this author came through and her enthusiasm for these projects. I am almost done crocheting all the cactuses in another book I had purchased and am ready for the Succulents and all thee new ones here.

Such fun!
As someone who can kill plants etc just by looking at them, this is ideal. Patterns are easy to follow, suitable for all levels of skill with instructions at the back, I've learnt how to do popcorn stitch making one of these. I've made two so far and working on a third. It is worth buying the Rico Bubble yarn, especially the iridescent white suggested for some of the spikes as it really sparkles. They look really good in white pots, but there is a section at the back to crochet pots too so they can be co-ordinated with your decor! Would highly recommend.

Highly recommend
I’d never picked up a crochet hook in my life before ordering this book (I saw it on a whim and decided to adopt a new hobby) and it’s been absolutely fantastic! I had to look up a few basic techniques on YouTube before starting any of the projects as the images for the techniques in the book aren’t entirely clear to a complete beginner. Other than this, the patterns are incredibly easy to follow and so pretty when finished! I’ve been crocheting for two weeks at most now and I’ve already finished four of the plants in the book. I would highly recommend to anyone who loves crochet, even a total beginner!

Excellent for beginners
This book is easy to follow and has lots of great patterns for beginners. It'll help you learn the spiral amigurumi technique, the magic ring, and also how to crochet ribbing. I've made several of these cacti as gifts and they've been very well received!

Fabulous book
Absolutely brilliant book with a wide range of cacti/succulents. I bought the book as a friend asked me to make crocheted succulents for table centerpieces in her new café & I know they'll look brilliant once made! Patterns are in UK crochet terms & you can easily substitute the stated yarns to adapt to your own style. Be warned though- most require additional craft supplies such as floral foam, wire etc but still a fantastic book. Highly recommended.
