Q: Realistically, how many plants do I need to buy to eventually get what we see in Picture 1?

Received my order less than a week ago, so, too soon to tell. I can say that my plant was 10 very slender stalks with the tallest over 33" in height. It looked pretty healthy right out the box. I am astounded to report that even though the roots, obviously, have yet to establish in my indoor pot, it is already growing at a rate of over 1" per day!

Q: If I buy one gallon.. can o split what’s in it and make it a few plants?

Yes. Mine came in as a very large root. Split them into 3. They grew about 5' the 1st year

Q: How many feet will it grow in one year

That depends on where you live and the climate.

Q: Should I try to remove the gel material around the roots when planting?

Yes, you should be able to remove it. I believe that keeps the plant moist while shipping. Grateful!
