Mounting hardware is not very strong
I finally got these installed, and they seem to work well. THe mounting brackets were damaged in transit (thanks to amazon packaging, which is not typically very intelligent). The mounting brackets had gotten bent from impacts in transit, and had to be bent back into shape. But this alone makes me leery: the brackets are made of such soft metal, you can bend it this way and that with your bare hands. Time will tell how long they will hold up the blinds. Another matter: when you shorten these blinds (i.e. cutting the cords and removing slats off the bottom), take with the "lift" cords. THese are the two cords that pull the blinds up and let them down. They are anchored in some little plastic buttons. MOVE THE BUTTONS UP ON THE CORDS FIRST, before cutting them - i.e. take care not to let the cord come out of the buttons. After being cut, the cords fray very enthusiastically, and are all but impossible to thread back into the buttons. I had to go out and buy one of those needle threading tools to get this job finished. My mistake, but a big pain.

Best I've found for the price
It's gotten more difficult to find a reasonably priced one inch aluminum blind. Home Depot or Lowes used to sell these in my neighborhood. These are a good value and better than what they now sell at Lowes or Blinds to Go. Installation is easy and the quality is fairly good. That said they should be about five dollars less than what they currently cost. These are also corded, which is getting harder to find as well, with the liablity issues with cords now.

A little too see through
These blinds were installed for me by my son and I find them a little too see through when they are fully closed. The individual loovers do not fully overlap and you can see out if you look up. It is a little unnerving, because you wonder how much people can see in. I kept them because they are on a second story window, so there's really nobody much to look in at that height. Otherwise the quality is good and the raise and lower mechanism works properly.

FLIMSY INSTALLATION EQUIPMENT
Seldom is it necessary to write anything derogatory about an Amazon-provided product. I'm disappointed at the lack of quality in the installation hardware supplied with these blinds. Clear plastic brackets come for the buyer to SCREW to the wall/window frame and the pieces provided to hold up the blinds are of extremely flimsy light-weight aluminum. These are supposed to hold up the blinds. That's never going to happen. Sorry, but this must be returned.

Cheap materials. Very inferior product. You get what you pay for.
This is a cheap, poorly made product. The slats are as thin as paper. The hardware that holds it to the window frame is cheap aluminum that bent during installation. Every part of this product is made of the cheapest and flimsiest material imaginable. It must have cost pennies to make. After following the exact instructions and installing it carefully, it kept popping off the wall when I ran the blinds up and down. Threw it away. Garbage in, garbage out.

Poorly Made, "You get what you pay for..."
We were so hopeful, as we read mixed reviews about this shade. But the minute we took it out of the box we suspected issues. It would not close properly once it was up, and the longer we tried to "fix" it the worse it got. We returned it asap and went ahead and bought locally. It is true in this case..."you get what you pay for." Save yourself some extra work and pass this one by.

Cheap product, not made to work well or last long, but responsive seller.
I bought two of these. The cords do not stay on the roller that locks the cord in place at the desired length. You have to be very careful to keep the cord running along the locking wheel or it slips off to the side and gets caught. Now one of these has failed after two months of regular gentle use. The cord that holds the blind to to the top of the hardware has come undone creating a gap on one side at the top and causing the entire blind to be cockeyed, rendering the entire thing useless. I took it down and inspected it and I don't see any way to repair it. I knew I was buying a cheap product, I guess you get what you pay for.Edit: After contacting the seller, I was sent a replacement which arrived in a few days, so I've added one star to my review for good service.

Beware of Bent Parts
While I was customizing the length, I noticed all slats on the left side were bent. Since there were no more of the particular product remaining in stock (2 were purchased for a bedroom), I had to meticulously bend all the edges back into shape.
