Q: Will the ranier cherry tree grow in zone 8, how tall does tree grow?

online orchards sends trees not quite bare root. It might be different in different times of the year. I bought on last year that was in a box approx. 4 feet tall and about 6 inches square. The roots were packed in paper and burlap,bone dry. I ordered it through a big-box lumber type store that I will not name here. It arrived on the first day that we hit 100 plus degrees after riding around taking the grand of the city The tree had sprouted and grown up to 1 1/2 inch long leaves inside the box that were pale yellow and crispy dry. Most of the leaves were in the bottom of the box. I soaked the roots over-night per instructions and trans -planted it into a pot and never recovered. I took it to the name-less place and they gave me a 45 minute runaround with 4 different employees and finally told they could not help me and I would have to send it back to the seller, which was them! At that point I had already wasted enough of my time which was worth more than the tree cost me. I ordered another about a month ago, roots in straw and it is potted and buds are swelling. looks great so far. I moved it close to the house tonight as we are to get a hard freeze. I still have the dried up one and will probable call Online Orchards and see If they are willing to help me out on it. I cannot locate any sort of receipt, But I think the tree is tagged. These trees are said to reach up to 35 feet, but my experience with grafting citrus tells me that it depends on the type of root stock used. The root graft is very obvious on this tree, about 6" above the roots I do plan to experiment with grafting on this tree also once it is a little older. Online sells 2 year old trees.
