An Excellent Book
I've always been a fan of the original Bladerunner movie and I wanted to experience the inspiration for it. It was a great book.

Love This Book!
This book is great and I am happy I bought it....with that said my book has a stamp for Yarra Libraries. There is no stamp saying "Discarded" so I'm beginning to think I got a stolen book....still love it thought.

Fantastic Read
So many things left out in the Blade Runner movie. Quite the fantastic tale and was surprised Philip K. Dick wrote so many sci-fi greats!

Book cover artwork was disappointing, book was excellent.
I love the story it's a great book that everybody should read if they like sci-fi. I'm only giving four stars instead of five because the book I received was not anything like the book in the picture, as far as the artwork on the front it was completely different it was just a picture of the Blade Runner movie. I was hoping to get a book with one of the artworks done for Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. like I said it's still the same book but the book cover artwork is just artwork for the movie Blade Runner and nothing to do with the original book. Some people don't care about the artwork on the book cover but I personally do care because I collect certain books and I always think it ruins it to have the movie artwork put onto a book that was written first. It's always best to stick with the original artwork made for the book, not the movie.

Where it all started
I had watched both of the Blade Runner movies before reading this book, and while the movies excel at creating a visually impressive and engaging environment, the book is unmatched when considering the interpersonal (or interandroidal) relationships and interactions. This story struggles with themes of life and moral statute; these themes are behind a façade robots and man. Anyone who is a fan of science fiction or dystopian novels should certainly give this one a read.

Don’t Read this book ! ! !
The book is so hyped up it’s probably impossible for it to live up to the praise it receives. I personally found it somewhat redundant. Quite often a given idea or theme is repetitiously presented over and over as if each chapter was meant to be read alone. It has an air of misogyny and the wording such as “kippel” “chickenhead” and “Andy”are slightly offensive, as well as annoying mostly because of the amount of times they appear in the book, It’s almost as if author had something against synonyms. I do however find the idea that empathy is something that is more of a groupthink process (social construct) rather than intrinsic to be interesting. I didn’t love it, I’m glad it was short. The movie is very loosely based on the book. Actually I’d say the films are more in depth than the book as far as character development plot. However delving into the concepts of what it is that actually make us all “human” or whether or not the word humane is truly representative of kindness and compassion as apposed to violence , greed and sheeplike thinking. I believe it’s an important read, perhaps it should even be required reading in schools or universities, I imagine it would be interesting to discuss in an ethics class, environmental study, or even psychology and sociology. Despite all that I’m glad I read it and do recommend it. I don’t believe everything read needs to be enjoyable sometimes things are necessary to read this may be one of those things.
