Old English, Poems Prose and Lessons Audio CD – Audiobook, December 31, 2007

I bought both book and CDs, but if you're hoping to use the CD #2 to follow along with the exercises in the book... forget it. I re-ordered the contents of CD #1 so I could follow along chronologically with what's in the book which made it much easier. Trying to listen to the "Reading" Exercises and follow along in the book is impossible. The Reading Exercises aren't in the book to read, thus they aren't "Reading" Exercises. What's the point in having a book and CDs that don't work together to make Old English more easily accessible?

Pollington does an amazing job. This is an essential if you are trying to learn now only how to read but also.pronounce OE. The sound of his voice is great even to just listen to as he reads. one of the best speakers of OE I have ever heard.

Stephen Pollington reads beautifully in Old English. His accent is superb! (He is English not American). The best renditions that I have heard to date. Bravo!

WARNING !! This CD will not play on a computer and cannot be uploaded to use on your i Pod or i Pad. You have to borrow a CD player and sit in your lounge or something to use it. I wanted to listen on the go and in bed with my headphones on. Poor tech.

A great idea, and in many ways very helpful. As a mature learner, though, sometimes more explanation is actually useful, rather than distracting, and I find I need other tests to clarify and complement this one. There are a number of errors in the text, too, which the editor really should have picked up, but if you have other texts with which to cross-check then it works.

Excellent support for anyone wishing to learn Old English or to find out about the existing literature. I recommend this item to beginners or those wishing to improve their knowledge of the subject.

good product ,arrived quickly, i did however for some reason think i was ordering a dvd not a cd, but that did not matter as i do own the book anyway.
