Amazing read!
This series is a fantastic deeply rooted story, with wonderfully dynamic characters that just latch on and take you on a roller coaster ride from hell! And I mean that in the best way possible considering this is a very dark tale that is not for the faint of heart! I must say that I'm almost finished with book three and couldn't be happier with how they story has progressed. The twists and turn come out of know where and constantly keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next. Not only do you get a deep understanding of the characters involved but also the world around them as well as it's inhabitants in a manner keeps the story flowing with out the typical 15 pages of detailed explanation of who someone is or the world around them. If you are looking for a long series to dive into or just a wonderful story to lose yourself in, I would strongly recommend the Sovereign of the Seven Isles series.

THE STORY CONTINUES
I enjoyed this series, in some way it reminded me of the SOT series, without the endless and repetative sermonizing. There are a few problems that would benefit from professional editing, but they DO NOT distract from the story unless you sre just looking to nitpick which I think some revewers are. There are some problems that other have harped on repeatedly and maybe the outhor does not need to mention Isabels "beautiful green eyes" or "they way she can walk through the forest without leaving a trail", etc, etc., more than once in each book. There have been some bad reviews about being overly descriptive, always finding something magical or that allows them to beat the odds and as I remember this always happened to Richard in SoT. Also, this is fantasy and I think the description of places that Alex and team are at is an aid for readers to see how beautiful some things are because there is magic involved. It was the same with the Confessors Palace and Rahl's and the home of the sisters in SoT. Yes, editing would help with wording, spelling and many others things but then the books would cost more. If the author is picked up by a publisher then we will all pay for the editing; the ebook will be a least $7.99 +tax if not more. Then if they decide to publish his work in hardback we will pay at least $12.99 +tax for a digital copy. This is an entertaining story, if you are not planning on reading it just to spot flaws. If you want to see a book that is truly horribly written and self-published contact me and I will give you the title. The story has characters who are likable and for those that scoff at the idea at the plot of a evil sorcorer, kept in a stae of suspended animation for 2000 years and yet the people alive still know the story of what happened, I repeat this is FANTASY. Also it was 3000 years in SoT; they remembered the wizards war and things that happened during that time.I read all different genres and have recently returned to fantasy and I think this is one of the best series I've read. I originally rated this a 5 because I think that the author has potential. I've lowered of all the thing that have been extensively written about but this is cloaser to the 3.5 that the book should be. Maybe I should have left it at 5 to counter all the reviewers I feel are being unfair, but that's not how I review books. I read all four books (he is planning on 7 and hopes to release #5 in December) and I will get the others as soon as they are released.DISCLAIMER: I am not a friend or relative of the author. I was not paid a fee to review this series. I am not a "sock puppet". I received the first book while it was offered free on Amazon and purchased the others because I enjoyed the first one.

Another great book in the series.
Book 3 gets intense as war looms and troops are moving all along the Isles. This installment focuses a lot on Isabel and Gabriella while they are visitors of the Renshi Isle. Alexander is still plugging along trying to keep the realm together against all odds. All of the characters in the series are growing in stature and experience. It is great seeing how Alexander is taking control and keeping everything under control. Against the evil powers , Alexander has many hair raising experiences and uses everything in his power and mind to keep everyone on the same page.Intense battles, back stabbing, and more enemies than one person should have to face is what this novel is all about.Well written series, quite engrossing and action packed.

Definitely not what it Seems
Three books into the series and Mindbender was a totally different read. Book 1 "Thinblade" lived up to its title...the search for the sword of Kings. Book 2 "Sovereign Stone"....the search for a stone that needed a Fairy to get it in order to keep it out of the bad guys hands. This book, Mindbender had a totally different feel. It showed that the author was set on doing a high level of character development beyond that of the primary character. It was as if there were 3 to 4 independent storylines all playing out in parallel of one another. As with his first books Mindbender lived up to its title. The depth of the story line allows the imagination to be pulled in many different directions at once. David is getting much better at surprising the reader with unexpected turns of events.Glad he just published book number 4, "Blood of the Earth"...I'm thinking this one is going to be gory...guess I'll have to deal with more nightmares..good job David!

Very fun.
I'm really enjoying this series, even if it seems to copy word-for-word from the Sword of Truth series. I agree with some reviewers who criticize how the hero is perfect and doesn't seem to have to work hard to accomplish difficult tasks. He can never lose a fight, and none of his friends seem to die because they can be healed by potions or magic-light power. It's fine now, but if the author continues down this route his books are going to become insufferable. He takes away any tension by doing this. The author's editing skills are a little better this time around, though he tells us twice how a certain character has gained weight since the arrival of two other characters, as if he forgot he already mentioned it. And the way he writes conversations between hero Alexander and his fairy familiar Chloe is annoying. Writing the dialogue in italics would have worked better than constantly telling us Alexander replied "with his mind."Other than that, I'm enjoying these books. They're fun time wasters and they don't need to be any more than that.

Brilliant
The original book was not what I thought it would be. However I read it because I had downloaded it. I have become so engrossed with the story that I am now on the final book of seven in the series. Fantastically written and the detail is brilliant

Fun
I like the story so far, sometimes I find the style a bit irritating, although I’m not really sure why but, all in all it’s diverting and quite a fun tale.
