God Talks with Arjuna: The Bhagavad Gita (2 Volumes)

This is the most powerful book or lets say the most powerful interpretation/commentary of Bhagavad Gita. By no means, i can rate the writings of Paramhansa Yogananda. First, i bought the English version. After a couple of Adhyaya (chapters), i felt like getting Hindi version as well. Reading both the versions parallellly helped understanding the concept better. I realized later that the book was originally written in English and translated to Hindi. English version is better if you are well versed in both the languages. The book came highly recommended by my meditation guru. If you are on a spiritual journey, this is a must have.

For the true seekerof God-this 2 book volume gives revelation on the meaning of the Gita AND the BIBLE. Truly fantastic!

For anyone looking for the actual text of the Bhagavad Gita, this isn't the book for you. If you have read the Bhagavad Gita, this book will be the gateway to deeper insights that you may have glossed over in the past. It is incredibly detailed and didactic; just like the Gita itself, you should take the lessons that resonate and not judge those that may seem over-extrapolating. There is no other interpretation of the Gita in the English language that I would trust over Yogananda's.

Item received via 'Daily Deals' was in excellent condition. 'God Talks with Arjuna' is quite a work and undertaking. I find it very instructive, but at times find that given my lack of knowledge of Hindu deities and concepts; that I have to do some added research to keep track of the various insights given in the text. Overall, I'm using this text with others from different religious disciplines to understand the broader array of Asian religions and spiritual teachings. As I can, I am researching and understanding parallels and differences with Western Christianity that I grew up with. For what I purchased it for, I find it quite helpful. Its a interesting style of presentation and different than I've seen prior. Overall I am quite satisfied and it suited my study interests at this time.
