Marshall avoids the extremes of both more anti-intellectual forms of fundamentalism and the skepticism of liberal protestantism. If you've always felt uncomfortable with both inerrancy and the whims of liberal scholarship, this is a great book that shows how one can both accept a strong sense of the bible as "entirely trustworthy" and not completely reject critical scholarship on the scriptures.

It is very helpful the way the book is laid out. Easy for me to read.

Very usefull, just what I needed for my research.

It is an overview and leaves you wanting more on certain topics. But it is a good introduction to the different sides in the issue.
