Most of the cheaper digital microscopes come with a flimsy plastic stand so it is almost impossible to get a good image at very high magnification. This sturdy aluminium stand is good value and enables you to get a good image at even the highest magnification and the rack and pinion height adjustment allows careful focusing provided you just nip the securing screw slightly to take up the play in the teeth while you focus and then tighten it securely when in focus.

I had a USB microscope with the small stand they are usually supplied with. I mostly use it to look at the movements of watches and it was impossible to get it in the right place. With this stand, the microscope is held facing straight down and can be raised and lowered very easily, so it is as near to perfect as you can get for the price. It does actually come quite expensive as an after market option, it would have been much more cost effective to buy a microscope that came with this type of stand. But, I didn't and I'm very happy with this as it is.

Purchased item as found the stand that came with my USB microscope was rather flimsy to say the least, not any more, the stand is easy to put together and holds the microscope nice and steady, and as im using the microscope to take measurements i needed it as steady as possible.
