Pro drummer loves this!
My best friend is a professional drummer who was looking for something to use for rehearsals and for semi-acoustic gigs. I purchased this (I own a studio) thinking it could be a good option. It's well made, and sounds great! There is a snare sound at the top -- not exactly sure how to adjust that to eliminate it if needed (we're currently using this as a kick or "bass drum") without unscrewing the face (I do wish they made these with an easy option to either use or muffle the snare sound), but in all honesty, it really sounds great. The finish is beautiful (I purchased a cover for it so it wouldn't get bashed up). By itself, it gives a deep nice slap sound for the body, and a good snare sound from the top. This is a good cajon for beginners as well as pros. My pro drummer loves it!Recommended!

Bottom Line: Lots of fun and value here and very well made.
I have been drumming for over 45 years and this is my first Cajon drum. The front venting is what caught my eye, so not being able to play it I took a chance and it paid off. I am working with a guitar as a duet and my trap set was just too much. No matter how I muffled and tuned the snare and cymbals were overpowering live and on recordings levels. We jammed last night for the first time with this Cajon and the guitarist loved it. It provided just the right level and mix for live acoustic performances and it's fun to play. I added the foot tambourine for variety and it works. The bass on the Cajon is good, not to overwhelming but present and the snare sounds great. Experiments some, turn and play the side and the back, this thing is full of all kinds of tone. Experiments with different strikes and beaters. Bottom Line: Lots of fun and value here and very well made.

MY FAVORITE CAJON!
This cajon sounds AMAZING! I have played dozens of cajon’s from many different manufacturers and I think this is the one to get and here’s why!Sound: Low end is excellent but not too overpowering. Snare sound is great but not the very best I’ve heard. Others I have played with a better snare sound had almost no low end but this cajon is pretty well balanced sound wise. Very rich and pleasant sound!Playability: this cajon’s sweet spot for that rich “kick” sound is higher on the front face then any cajon I have played which is so nice! I don’t have to bend or hunch way over to reach the bottom of the cajon just to get a solid thump. If your going to mic up your cajon often then you may want to consider getting one with a hole in the back as the mic will not be in the way as much, and looks cleaner on stage; but if your going to be using this more in an acoustic setting I totally recommend having the sound come out the front! It fills the room so much better and the sound isn’t so directional like a traditional cajon is.Fit/finish: It‘s excellent! Looks super classy and feels extremely solid. 10 out of 10 in this department! If your still reading this by now then you probably care as much about music and instrumentation as I do. I am personally very happy with this purchase and would definitely recommend it to a friend or fellow musician. My guess is that you will like it as much as me especially if you're going to be using it in an acoustic setting and don't need the most amount of snare sound in the world. Hope this info helps someone out their deciding if this cajon is right for them.

Fantastic Sound! Almost like a drum kit!
The media could not be loaded. The video doesn’t capture the awesome sound this cajón makes! It is really exciting to hear such a great bass and snare sound! If I could rate it a 10 I would!

Great instrument!
Overall I really like it so far. I have played other hand percussion instruments for years and a cajon is something I recently found out about and wanted. I picked this one because it had good reviews and price. I also picked it because it has front facing sound ports where the sound comes out of instead of the traditional smaller port in the back. The description and reviews said this produced better bass and over all better projection of sound.I have to say I was a little disappointed of the deepness of the bass. Don't get me wrong, it IS much better than other cajons I have played, but don't expect some dubstep bass drop noise to come out of it! Overall though the sound quality is great, very satisfied with all the different tones and sounds I can get out of it depending on where you hit it and how hard. After a little practice, I was making some nice sounding beats and it is extremely fun to play and experiment with. The only thing I DIDN'T like about it was the snare wires. To me, they made to much of a ticking sound when each of the wires would brush the inside of the drum. This was easily fixed by me taking the front plate off and taping the snare wires together so that it now makes more of a thwack noise when all the wires hit at once. Another adjustment I made was to not screw the top two corners screws back in so that the small space would provide a nice slapping sound when I hit the corners (which worked!).PROS: Great overall sound quality, good bass, looks awesome, easy to make adjustments, very reasonable price.CONS: Snare wires' sound (in my opinion, others may like the sound, but this is "my" review), no seat cushion
