To make their mothers proud.
I used this book in my classroom with high ability students. The writing was very well done, using many similies and metaphors. The 3 bear cubs are adorable, but each one takes a loss of their mothers. Their journey is very dramatic and there is some hard scenes, but my students fell in love with the characters. I'm reading it with my granddaughter, who is 7, and she loves it,too.

It a good book.
Every year at Christmas we buy our boys books for their stockings. This year we bought our 9 year old-4 grader-the first book in this series. He likes animals and is especially enchanted with bears, so I figured this was right up his alley. The following is his review.I like it because it tells you what bear they are,and when the polar bear attack them, and it tell you how much they weigh. That's cool for a test. They give you a lot of information, and teach you about nature and the bears that live in the wild, not just a zoo.He isn't a huge reader, or perhaps I should say that he doesn't often enjoy reading for fun, but this book held his attention and kept him reading. That is a HUGE plus for my husband and I.

The Best!
I have read this book to my third graders every year for the past…..many years. I love how they get involved with the characters and become so good at visualizing what is happening. I suggest it for all students at third grade or higher.

If you love bears, the wild, or great writing, this is for you
This series is absolutely addictive. It was my introduction to Erin Hunter, (creator of the Warriors series). It's about three bears plus a shapeshifting fourth bear who meet and embark on a quest of which they are unsure. All they really know is that it's something they must accomplish. Like anything worth doing, it's hard work and the bears suffer tremendously but overcome obstacles and stay together, growing to appreciate each other's strengths and differences. What this book really helped me understand was how very hard it is to be a bear in today's world. Resources are diminishing as land is being taken over by humans for their purposes - leaving bears with very little ground left to call their own, and as a result, dwindling food.We know for a fact from news stories that polar bears in particular are finding it harder and harder to find food and rising deaths of polar bears in Canada's north are an ongoing news item.Read this and understand more about bears than you ever will by going to a zoo!

This is such a great book!
I like this book because, it is about three bear cubs, who go out to explore and find someone, it changes depending on the bear cub. I recommend this book to six through 10 year olds. This book was rated four-star not five, because it keeps changing in between stories, and might be difficult to follow. -Audrey

This is Great
For a long time I was a non-reader due to the ADHD that I didn't know I had until late in life. The Kindle made it possible for me to read and now I am looking for whatever I can get. The Seekers is an awesome book. At first you wonder why the change in characters, but as you move through the story, you understand in no uncertain terms. It is as if you watched an episode on the screen, but had to wait until next week to see what happened.

A great new series
I have 2 boys who read every Warriors book as soon as it comes out. They have convinced me to read several too. We got this new one the day it came out and the reading began! We all loved this new series. I was shaken by how sad it was and couldn't believe the sad events that were happening to the young bears in the stories. The boys took it in stride. I could see how it would make some kids sad or anxious because it deals with some parent loss.As soon as they were done reading it, they started wondering when the next in the series will come out. I wonder too how the paths will cross in future books in the series. I don't think you will be disappointed with this book if you like the Warriors series, or fantasy books about animals.

enviro book!
the first of a series by the four? Wirters known as erin hunter. I didnt like the worrier series but i thought id give this one a read and tbh i quite liked it.In this book erin introduces us to three bears one polar, one black and a grizzly all of which have their own story to tell. The quest begins tells of how the different types of bears live and of the hardships they come by but at the same time as teaching us about the characters they have also created a good story that doesnt get boring. The only issue i had was that some of the writing seemed patronising to the reader but keep in mind it is a book for 9+ and thus is written for that age group.

Not as good as warrior cats
Nowhere near as good as warrior cats! Daughter found the storyline quite poor and struggled to finish reading it.

Pretty good
I stared reading this book because Erin Hunter wrote the long series of "Warriors" and I've read every book so far. It was much better than expected but there are a few things I feel aren't needed. Keep up the good work!

Best book ever! says eleven year old
My eleven year old (who reads a lot) said this is the best book she's ever read. She was gripped from the start, took it to school to read, even put away the iPad to read it and finished it in a few days. She can't wait for the other five books.
