Aurelia's Spanish Chorizo - All-Natural, Keto Friendly, Fully Cooked Sausage w/ the Full Flavor of Spain. No Gluten. Whole 30 & Paleo Friendly - 8oz

The original product I received was surprisingly bland. I used it in stuffing for a roast chicken. I chopped it and mixed it in with the cooked ingredients and then stuffed the chicken.So, I contacted Aurelia, told them and asked if that was typical. Their reply was no. It was not. Unfortunately, I couldn’t tell them the batch number because I had used the entire piece and discarded the wrapping. They decided to replace the product for free and also sent me samples of other chorizo products.I used this product last night in a chili relleno casserole (layers of roasted chilis, shredded cheese, seasoned egg/flour/milk mix and diced Spanish chorizo (as with the stuffing, the chorizo was added as is (casing on) at room temperature). Wow. It was so good. It added so much to the taste of the dish. My husband was very impressed and said 3 times how good it was while we were dining. Then, he mentioned it again twice at breakfast the next day. He liked it.Definitely not what I originally got. Although this chorizo only cooked for 35 minutes in the casserole vs 90 minutes in the chicken, it imparted great flavor to the dish, and really made the dish. (The roasted peppers were fresh from my garden, but I didn’t have enough of them.)We both agreed that this chorizo is at its best in a cooked dish. Eaten at room temperature as is, I would rate it a 3. It needs heat to bring out the flavor.

This Aurelia's Spanish Chorizo has little fat and no nitrites. making it a much healthier snack food than pepperoni. The taste is incredible, just enough spices and not over bearable heat. I cut it up into 1/8" sliced, put it in a airtight container. Throughout the day I get in the fridge and sneak a slice or two...or three! It's also great with cheese and crackers. I have purchased this in the past and I recommend this product.

I liked the flavor of this chorizo. It was pretty authentic to what I have had in the past (in mexico). I would have prefered a little more flavor/spice (not necessarily heat). I have ordered another "authentic" brand (Pacalios) from Amazon and found it to have more grease and an overpowering smokey flavor. I much prefer this brand. Would recommend.

Definitely had a different taste. Smokier than others not quite a typical chorizo taste. Didn’t really care for it. And the casing was thick and hard to cut through. It kept coming off. Wasn’t sure if your supposed to remove it or not.

I'm a professional chef, and was hosting a dinner party for some friends during my off hours. I was drawn to this product based off the clean ingredient list and shelf stability in shipping. I didn't have time to try and track down a Spanish style chorizo (which is very different than Mexican) so I went the online order route with some trepidation. However, this was exactly what I wanted. I did pull the casing "skin" off of the chorizo before cutting it up for use in the paella (I find sometimes the skin can be off-putting for some people), and thought it was a wonderful product. Not too greasy, but the fat rendered off gave the rest of the ingredients and entire dish a pleasant taste. Rave reviews on the final product, and I would definitely buy this again.

I have been ordering this brand for years and occasionally try others and always go back. Well worth the price!!
