Great book! Very helpful in learning what to expect and what to do to help your baby learn independent sleep!

This book has been the single most useful resource so far in the 4 months of motherhood. Rely on granny for love and nanny for help, but do read this book for knowledge. It has helped me understand my baby better and make life easier for both of us.

Such a nice book.... really helpful for expecting parents.... this is a must have for them I would say...

My baby is now 8 months old and I specifically came back here to review this book. The good things that I could implement from this book have been- 1. The authors write about sleep-wake-feed cycle. I implemented it and it worked very well. 2. That led to a good schedule for baby. When he was about 4 weeks old, he developed a wonderful schedule which allowed me to predict when he'll eat, how much he shall need and when he will sleep. Although the timings have chai, he still follows a schedule. So this removed any unpredictability and unwanted surprises. And I resumed my work very soon post delivery. 3. Because the authors stress on full-feeding, my baby developed a good appetite. Now, he's eating solids and he has never been fussy with food, touchwood. I have been saved from the cluster feeding disaster. Iv seen so many of my friends feed their babies every hour or 2 hours. Thankfully my baby started keeping gap of 3-4 hours between his meals very early on. What didn't work? 1. The whole reason I purchased,read and followed this book was to make my baby sleep through the night. I did everything the authors said. But even today, my baby won't sleep for 10-12 hours a stretch. He stopped demanding nightfeeds long back. But his night sleep isn't as peaceful as I would like. 2. The whole stress that I put on myself in the initial 6-7 weeks after my child was born, in order to set his routine, took away a little bit of joy from my motherhood experience. It gave me unnecessary tensions, expectations and disappointments when things didn't work out the way I expected to. But looking back, it was very much worth it. But this book has helped me tremendously. A huge thanks to the authors and Amazon. It made many things a lot easier for me. I highly recommend it.

Such a great resource in helping my baby to sleep through the night which meant I could get sleep. This new condensed ebook is to the point with many links back to a website giving me more expanded information. Recommend this to anyone having a baby! It certainly gave me confidence as a parent.

Habe von diesem Buch erst erfahren, als mein Sohn 6 Wochen alt war, aber es hat trotzdem geholfen. Mit 2,5 Monaten hat er zuverlässig durch die Nacht geschlafen. Außnahmen weswegen ein Kind im ersten Jahr Nachts immer wieder wach wird, gibt es natürlich reichlich und die muss man dann locker sehen. Aber das Prinzip schlafen - essen - spielen/wach sein funktioniert und mit der Zeit verlängern sich die Zeiten und Mahlzeiten schaffen sich von ganz alleine ab und Schlafenszeiten werden zusammengelegt und verlängert. Alles super und nach nun über 2,5 Jahren mit den Erfahrungen und 3 erfolgreichen Weiterempfehlungen an Freunde kann ich sagen, das Prinzip ist Gold wert und funktioniert.

I used an early edition of this book 30 years ago when my first daughter was born. It was absolutely fantastic then in giving real practical advice on how to train your baby to sleep through the night and give some routine to your day (to keep you sane and your baby healthy). I have bought it for all close friends expecting babies ever since, as i feel it is the best gift you can give a new parent. Both my children slept through the night at 8 weeks old and I have just bought the latest edition for my now pregnant firstborn daughter. She can’t wait to read it to find out what you actually do when you take a baby home and to make sure her baby sleeps at night! The latest edition is even better than ever with so much useful information and guidance! The book is American but don’t let that put you off - the authors are highly experienced and qualified medical professionals, firmly grounded in the real world, with humility and humour.
