Better than expected.
I had my doubts as to the quality and durability of this item due to its low price. I no longer do. Was really surprised how well it was built and how sharp it was right out of the package. I did touch up the blade with a whetstone as there was a little paint on the flat side that came to the blade edge just to see if it made a difference after I peeled a log directly out of the package. Maybe but I don't think it was necessary. Seemed to take the paint down after a few minutes on its own. After peeling a few 15 inch red pine logs about 20 feet long I hit it with the whetstone again and it was pristine. So, it will need an occasional touch up but so will any blade if you use it long enough. The handles were tight right out of the box and the angle of the draw knife was perfect and very comfortable to use. That said, using any draw knife is a good workout on the back and shoulders but its much easier when using on green logs. You'll get a work out but also get the job done. Overall build quality seems to be very good sturdy. The rubber blade guard fits well and protects the blade when not in use. I would buy again but I think this will last me the rest of my life.

Nothing. Drag a knife and it works. Pretty simple
Great tool

Decent, Cheap China Stuff Like You'd Expect
It works. It strips the bark off this oak log I have. But, it's painful. I ended up dipping wooden handles in the rubber tool handle stuff to dampen the blow on my palms. Was only able to do 10 minutes at a time but now can do 20-30 minutes. Wasn't impressed with paint job, covering over the sharp edge at spots, chipping off already in others etc. But it works. Didn't fall apart. And feels plenty sturdy enough to hold up to the job at hand.

It’s a draw knife, a good one, if you take care of it.
It’s a good little draw knife, great for debating small to medium size logs, cuts great after you remove the cosmoline and wax. I had no trouble getting it to razor sharp with stones and strop. It’s longevity remains to be seen, but overall I’m very happy with it. People need to realize though that tools must be cared for. This is a unique shaped blade as well, that requires some knowledge and maybe a special tool. However, if you buy it, it’s your responsibility to maintain it. Now that’s it’s good and sharp I’ve even used the opposite side of the blade as a chair scorp. Knives, all kinds are like people. It’s all about context. It’s also unrealistic to believe a tool for under $30 will come as a razor blade. Except beavercraft, their tools are plenty sharp, mora too. This is a specialty tool, it’ll need a dust off. Besides, even if it were scary sharp out the box, it’ll get dull with use. What’s the plan then? For you who are griping about needed to invest 15 minutes in your edges. So just sharpen it up, be proud of your tools and treat them well. It’s a grand little draw knife.

Good enough to get the job done.
I bought this to make a walking stick with my 8-year-old son. Needed to debark a great branch we found. It did the job, the center of the blade stayed sharp, but I noticed towards the outer edges it's chipping. Like others have said, the handle angle is a little awkward, I would have loved to have handles pointing upwards. Overall, for the money, it's fine. If you're going to be doing a lot of woodworking and need a high quality tool, this might not be it. I'll probably only use it to make more walking sticks.

works great
Not many people will ever use a draw knife or even know what it's for. I use them a lot and this one is very good for the price. It holds an edge very well. A little difficult sharpening because of the handles but I figured it out.
