sad
I expected so much more from Petter. But these images are all the same. Maybe if more photos were in color, it would be interesting but it isn't. Luba is a much better book.

Delightfully wholesome and sinfully sexy all in one!
In many ways this book sets the bar for what good erotica should be. It provides an intimate glimpse into the marriage between renown photographer Petter Hegre and his stunningly beautiful wife Svanborg. They met in 1996 when she volunteered for a photo-shoot and they've been together since then, marrying in 1998. Petter's been shooting her ever since that first day and this book is the result of that monumental effort (he's shot over 6000 photos). What is so inspiring, and what many people will undoubtedly fail to appreciate, is that Hegre has created a holistic documentary of their life together. My Wife features scenes from their family life, images from their travels together, and an image or two of their wedding day. This is most elegantly juxtaposed with a huge amount of erotic imagery. Much of it is of Svanborg in the nude. But it's more than that - there is some amazing sexual (and oftentimes kinky) imagery here, where we see Svanborg with other women and with Petter. We've never seen a body of work that so seamlessly interweaves an adventurous sex life within the blessed union of marriage. Delightfully wholesome and sinfully sexy all in one - this book is amazing!

My Wife...My Goodness!
This is the type of project we all would love to do, but rarely ever follow through on. Here Petter Hegre has set a fine (artistic) example for us all, he has opened his (and his wife's) private life up to us all to view from these pages. The photographs range from beautifully set fine art types, to down right obscure. I just can't put this book down. Thank You, Mr. Hegre. Enjoy...

This man needs to edit
There are some great photos in here and then some so-so ones. I found that flipping through this book became boring. After a while, seeing the same woman with her legs around her ears starts to get old. I guess that's what marriage is all about, but I'm not married to her. My real complaint is the over abundance of simaler images. Some of these pictures are better than the others. She's a beautiful woman, but less is more.

The book was ruined for me...
My perception of this book was ruined I think by seeing the full size pictures first. While in Hamburg, Germany I was lucky enough to see Petter Hegre's work on display at the Erotic Art Museum (on the corner of Grosse Freiheit and Reeperbahn if you get the chance). Impressed, I looked through the book in the gift shop. How disappointing. The power of the pictures is lost in the small format. Instead of seeing them as pieces of art, I couldn't help but look at the book as a collection of someone else's snapshots. It's nothing more than a photo album of mediocre pictures.

My Wife
My Wife is a wonderful book. Certain photos were unbelievably intimate and mesmerizing. There were others that were too "snap shot" quality for my personal taste. I think that the female body is very beautiful but seeing numerous photos of the same gentalia is a little monotonous. There is a second woman in a few of the photos who is unidentified. Hegre's wife and the second woman are in several photos in a sexual manner which does break up the boringness of the layout. I do realize that I concentrated on the negative aspects of the book, but overall it is a good book and I would recommend it to others.

Quite amazing
This book is unforgettable. I wasn't sure how to react to it at first, but the more I found out about how and why it was made, the more I realised it's an honest and beautiful erotic work. I'm not one to gush, but this book really does makes quite an impact.
