UPDATED From: Best kitchen mat ever! To: Still like but don't have a long life
UPDATED REVIEW: I still really like these mats but I've lowered 2 stars because of their wear and tear. I bought them in January of 2013 and it's now June 2015. First off, we're not perfectionist people when it comes to our kitchen. Things get spilled on the floor and while for the most part we get up the big spills. We're not going to dry the floor the instant there is a splash or move everything around to get a perfect clean and/or dry. Therefore, these mats wear and tear could entirely be sped up by our lack of viligant care, but I assume other people are in our boat would have a similar care as ours. We're not trashing them, but we're certainly not babying them. The issue is that because there have been enough spills on the floor around the mats, that the velvety fabric and floor fabric that surrounds the memory foam are pealing apart. So there are big gaps where even more fluid, gunk, or junk can get in and deteriorate things faster. This also resulted in the surface of the mats to bunch, pucker, and wrinkle up, so it's no longer a smooth mat. Additionally, the edges are kind of "fraying" for lack of a better word. While the fabric doesn't technically fray, it's like the velvety material is wearing away. They are still comfortable, and I like them, but after spending $60 on them, which is way higher than I would normally EVER buy for something like this, I just really really wanted them and they were my splurging accent for my first ever house, I feel like I couldn't on a good conscious recommend them to everyone. I'm happy I have them, sad they won't last much longer, but probably wouldn't buy a mat for a kitchen that's has the foam encased in some sort of material. I think it makes more sense to buy the foam mats where there isn't anything else but the foam. However, if you're a neat freak and really diligent about everything on the floor in your kitchen, I bet these would last you a long time and you'd be happy with them.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I love these mats! They are so comfortable to stand on. The material used reminds me a little bit of velvet. The red is also very rich and a great color, better than what is shown on the screen. I would recommend these to anyone! While a bit spendy, you won't regret them. My only slight complaint is that they slide around on the floor a bit. They have a surface to help them stay in place but it's not perfect. It's definitely better than other traditional floor mats and could easily be rectified by using that spongy stuff that helps keep things in place.

It's ok
Eh. Three stars because it is cushy, but am not thrilled with the material's texture. It's kind of a velvety material that attracts dirt, dust, cat hair, etc., like a magnet. Because of the texture, it needs to be vacuumed, can't just wipe it clean. Will probably bring it to the office and use with standing workstation.

This mat is very comfortable, has a somewhat velvety feel
This mat is very comfortable, has a somewhat velvety feel, and such a pleasure to stand on while doing dishes. It looks great and is quite easy to just dust off. It doesn't move much, and when it does it's just a matter of inching it back into place. My husband loves it so much that we are already getting one (or two!) more for the kitchen again.

More for Bathroom than Kitchen
Great mat for the bathroom but not the kitchen (which is why I purchased it) The suede like surface just collected every crumb and was difficult to clean. We DO love it in the bathroom though.

Works well with a variety of decor
It is thicker than expected and doors will not open over it. Otherwise, a very pretty etched design and nice red color.

More like a very fine
From the looks of the picture i had thought it would be some kind of rubber or soft pliable plastic but it's not. More like a very fine, soft velvet or felt. It doesn't seem to attract hair or dirt but i can tell that after a few weeks it'll need to be wiped down to at least clean dust away to keep it vibrant and pretty. As for the comfort level it's perfect. Not to thick but thick enough you can stand comfortable on it while prepping for dinner or cleaning dishes.Lastly it doesn't slide around on my laminate floor unless i accidentally kick it. Then it scoots a couple of inches and stops. All in all i think it's worth the money. Though i do wish they had a bigger size that would span the entire length of my prep/sink area

Misleading Description
I searched Amazon for Memory Foam Bathmat and this item was listed. It was the right color and size, but pricey, but I ordered it. Upon receipt it wasn't a memory foam bathmat, but labeled Anti Fatigue Kitchen Mat, thick, heavy plastic like material, not soft memory foam, and not for a bathroom. I returned it and ordered elsewhere at a better price.

Matches my kitchen
The colors match my kitchen exactly. It has a nice soft cover, so it feels good against your feet. It could stand to be a little thicker, however, as it doesn't exactly make standing at my sink better. But it's a good kitchen mat, soooo...pick your battles?
