The only bottle my 3-month old will take. Fantastic design. ADDED **6 months later - LEAKING LEAKING LEAKING**
I had to write this review immediately! I am leaving on an international business trip for 4 days next week. I made a decision to pump and leave our 3-month old at home with a loving nanny and daddy. I have been pumping for weeks now, saving every precious last drop. In the past months, we have tried every bottle and she will not take any. Dr. Browns, Advent, Playtex, etc. She will take it if she is starving but even then resists and won't take the nipple or start to really suck, mostly playing and chewing it. I received the Adiri today along with the Nuby Natural Touch bottle. I had heard both of these may leak so tried them with water first, and was excited to test them out.The Nuby leaked like I have never seen. And no matter what we tried, with all the various parts, we could not get it to stop leaking. I cannot even imagine what I would do if it was breast milk I had tried instead of water. I think I will throw it away - it's not even worth giving it to someone it leaks so badly and returning it will cost more time and shipping than what it costs to buy it. HORRIBLE.So then came the Adiri. It is beautifully designed, a 2-piece solid plastic base with a softer top with very natural nipple. The bottom does screw on and you need to put your finger on the top of the nipple to avoid any leaking. I tried it once, it did leak a bit, you have to just screw it on straight and make sure it is tight - not a problem at all. Then here is the best part - I put my freshly pumped 3-oz of milk in the bottle, and my daughter started drinking from it RIGHT AWAY. In just the same way she drinks from my breast. She even put her hands up like she does when she is feeding and her eyes got all droopy and sleepy while eating. I burped her after a few ounces and she went at it again, sipping every last drop and then was the happiest I have seen her all day. There is a little vent at the bottom which allows air to escape and keeps air from getting into the milk.So I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this bottle - I'm going to buy a few more immediately and can now go out of town with some peace of mind that she is not going to be screaming and starving while I am gone.--------------------------- 6 months later -----------------------------I see why all the people wrote abut the bottle leaking. We now have about 15 of these bottles in all colors (the dog ate about 6 of them, we keep buying them) and now I see why they leak. It is so frustrating to have multiple reasons why these bottles lose precious breastmilk all over the floor, even when the bottom is carefully screwed on tight. I am SO frustrated I want to throw all of these away but my daughter still prefers them over Advent, Playtex or Dr. Brown's. So here is the deal:1) BOTTOM SCREWED ON CORRECTLY: It is true, if you don't screw the bottom on straight and take the time to do it really tight, it leaks. But the weird thing is - you screw it on tight, and then you check it and it's OK, and then you find it is leaking and it is NOT on tight. The only explanation I could think of for this is the bottom of the different colored bottles are different sizes, slightly, and they do not fit the same on each bottle. But you cannot tell the difference between them so I am not sure what is going on here.2) PLASTIC PIECE DIFFERENT SIZES: Again, this is because there are two different bottoms to the bottles. The plastic circle attached to the bottom pieces are DIFFERENT SIZES. These need to match with the different size bottoms - it's hard to explain but there large and small circles on the bottom and large and small pieces of plastic that attach, and obviously if you get the large piece on the small circle, you get leaking. Major leaking. Once we figured that out it is a no brainer, but it was really confusing.3) NO REASON AT ALL LEAKING: I have no idea why my bottle kept leaking last night, which prompted me to look up my old review and add onto it. I think it is the size of the bottom not matching the top (we have all three sizes now) but I am not sure.So to summarize, this bottle is great because it is the only one our daughter would ever take and still takes - however it is impossible to warm, it is awkward to fill upside down (you just put your finger on the nipple while filling) and it leaks all the time. I think once you get several sizes / colors of these, the issues are exponential. Our daughter is 9.5 months now and I am trying to graduate her to Advent and other bottles but at night these are all she will take (or my breast) so we have to deal with them - I am sure the manufacturers are having a time with this, I have even heard these bottles are no longer being produced which is really sad because they are a great concept and overall design. It is just flawed and frustrating for parents!

Love These Bottles!
I had always planned to nurse and bottle feed my LO. I did some research and these bottles constantly came up in top lists for bottles for breastfed babies, so I bought a few thinking we would ween her in to bottles over a period of time. That didn't happen. When my daughter was two weeks the family dog got very sick and needed to be rushed to the vet. We didn't think it was appropriate to take daughter, and since it was my dog I decided to go and leave my daughter with my husband. I handed him an Adiri Stage 1 bottle and a couple bags of frozen breastmilk. Then we exchanged a "good luck," unsure who was going to have the worst few hours. It was definitely me. She took the bottle right away and has never had any problems with it since. She's going on 4 months now. Her latch has always been perfect, and I swear that it's because she uses the same latch for the bottles. She's takes the bottle just as easily as the nipple, and sometimes in the same feeding. It's just perfect!I know some people have had issues with leaking, and yest it CAN be a problem if you don't put the cap on correctly or clean the vent so no liquid leaks out. For the majority of the time leaking has NOT been an issue for us. Here's my pros vs cons:PROS1. It's the only bottle she'll take2. Dishwasher safe (but I still hand wash them)3. No nipple confusion! Easy transition from nipple to bottle and back the other way. Have done that many times!4. Her latch on the bottle is almost exactly the same as it is on the nipple so nursing her has remained comfortable and pain-free.5. Milk flow is appropriate for each stage so she gets the same rate of milk whether she's nursing or bottle feeding.7. Easy to clean and put back together.CONS1. It's the only bottle she'll take! I've been caught out and about without a bottle and I can't find these at the local Target or Babies R' Us. I've tried 3 different bottles and she won't take any of them. I have learned to never leave the house with a bottle packed.2. Can't warm up milk in the bottle easily because bottle is thick. (This is okay with me since warming up the milk in the storage bags is so easy anyway)3. Formula may clog the hole, but I think that's normal for most bottles.4. Leaking CAN be an issue if not assembled correctly.

Good bottle for breastfed baby.
I bought this bottle for my breastfed 3 month old who is starting daycare. We tried several other bottles and this is the only bottle we could get him to put in his mouth without getting upset. So far we haven't had any of the problems listed in the other reviews, other than it does leak if you aren't careful because of the somewhat awkward set up. We warm the milk up in a storage container, shake it and then pour it into the bottle and turn it upright right away to avoid leaks. We don't wash it in the dishwasher, which I think has helped keep it in good shape. I did put one in the microwave in a moment of desparation and the nipple turned a bit yellow. Won't do that again. This bottle is a little bit more of a hassle than a regular bottle, but if you are a breastfeeding mother trying to get your baby to take milk from a bottle I highly recommend it. If you are formula feeding I don't really see a point since it is meant to be more appealing to a baby who is used to a breast. In that case just use a regular bottle.
