So much value for your money!!!
As a registered nurse I have had many hours behind professional microscopes going through school and I have to say, this toy set is pretty spectacular! The set has soooo many items that are truly amazing and the high quality of all items is such a great value! There are prepared slides, blank slides with covers, so many tools and extras this toy set will provide many hours of fun for our science/nerd side 🤗 the instruction book is nice for an inventory check list and to learn the names of all the components on the microscope, but I do have to say that if I hadn't had previous microscope experience I would of struggled to set up the projector portion. That is literally the only complaint or negative thing I can find to say about this set. The slides are pretty good quality, the prepared slides have rounded smooth edges which makes this toy set ideal for youngsters to learn and play with, without the risk of injury. I would recommend this toy microscope set to anyone looking for great quality and value and a great price point.

Flecks of dirt or defect in viewfinder lens
Overall, we love it. It’s easy enough to use and already has our kids out grabbing samples. My biggest complaint is that the view finder piece is dirty. So when trying to look at samples, all you see are spots on this lens. I own cameras, and have lens cleaning kits, but nothing is removing these flecks! Very frustrating.

Won’t stay focused. Doesn’t work well. Piece of junk.
Simply put it didn’t work. More specifically there were several issues that a buyer should be aware. First the objective lens came scratched and the microscope itself is very light and cheaply made. Next, the pieces didn't fit well together and the different parts wobbled around a lot making it hard to get slides on and off or to find the right focus. Finally it would not stay focused. The dials used to focus the microscope by moving it up or down were not put together correctly and it would not stay in the position we put it in. So we would get something in focus then it would slip down and out of focus. We didnt get to try out most of the stuff it comes with since the microscope didnt work but the accessories are shoddily made as well. I let my kids try the tools included for prepping specimens like the tweezers and “scalpel” but they were worthless. The tweezers to pick up specimens are plastic and loose thus making them impossible to use. We couldn’t even pick up a decent sized piece of paper let alone a tiny thing. And the knives are a very thin flimsy metal that bent when we used it instead of cut.Overall a horrible purchase! We got this as a gift for our 7 year old for her birthday and she was so disappointed. She kept asking if we could try different things to fix it but nothing worked and we will be returning it for something better.

Toy, not scientific instrument
I was not impressed with this product. It came with a lot of stuff for kids to use, but ended up being a dud as you couldn’t focus anything clearly. I would classify this as a toy and would be great for imaginative play. I attempted to use this in an elementary classroom setting for science but was disappointed in the quality.

Very disappointed- NO instructions!
This microscope is advertised as a "Kids' Play Toy". There are absolutely no instructions, aside from 5 pages on how to set up the microscope. Where are the directions on how to use the contents? Yeast, shrimp eggs etc. I wanted to try this as a new hobby. Without directions, it is worthless! How could a child figure out how to use this?

NOT a metal handle as advertised
I just received the microscope set. It is a Christmas present for a child and I was concerned with negative reviews of other sets that were not happy with the durability of the Microscope. So when I read about METAL handle and base - I thought this children's microscope would be OK. It arrived and Lo and Behold the microscope handle was a piece of plastic painted silver. The Headline actually said METAL, and the body actually said Metal. "Durable & Easy to carry -The arm and base of the microscope is made of metal which makes it more durable. All accessories are put in an easy-to-carry case neatly to allow kids to conduct safe and fun experiments" I'll update after Christmas. BUT FOR NOW AMAZON SHOULD ASK THE DISTRIBUTER TO CHANGE THE LIE.

total junk
Was buying this as a gift, for my 10 year old niece that likes science. I played with it, before giving it to her. This is basically a toy. The quality is poor. It really doesn't magnify anything. You have to line the light, specimen, and eye piece up perfectly for it to kinda work. The optic had debris on the inside of the lens, and they aren't clear quality. Overall, i sent it back, and got her the geode kit from national geographic, which she loved.

Very poor plastic optics, unusable
I was expecting at least some semblance of microscopic capabilities but obviously all the manufacturing costs were spent on the case and peripherals. We could not see anything beyond 300x. And even then it was blurred with terrible light scatter and significant opacity. Just like looking through plastic.Apart form the fact the light never worked, my kids were very disappointed that they couldn't use it. I had to return it.PROS: Good carrying case and lots of supporting peripherals, slides, samples etc.CONS: Very poor optics, unusable
