Terry Brooks never writes the expected
When something is heading one way and you wonder what is next he will shift and you can't see what's coming. Brooks is beyond amazing with ability to keep you at the edge. I would recommend any of his writing . This story was good and keeps you wanting more!

Good Read
I enjoyed the three related books in this group. Unlike most of Terry's books, these three were stand alone stories, although the characters continued from one book to the next, the stories were each complete in their own book. I appreciated finishing the story in one book instead of three. The books should be read in order though, as events in the later books will spoil events in the earlier ones. This was a good finish to the three and I liked finding out how things were resolved with some of the main characters that we got to know. I did feel that some of the characters seemed to lose depth in this book, even with the understanding that there were multiple storylines with several central characters. Overall, worth the time and a satisfying end to the series, even with a few things left open to our imaginations.

A Great Epic Fantasy
The Defenders of Shannara series continues with "The Sorcerer's Daughter".The evil sorcerer Arcannen Rai and High Druid's Blade Paxon Leah have battled before. Now, their on-going fight will be taken to a new level. In the city of Arishaig, representatives from the Druid order and the Federation have met to work out their differences and build goodwill. But the initial good feelings are shattered when a magical creature is set free and manages to kill off most of the Federation delegation. Paxon immediately suspects Arcannen is to blame, but now, he and the remaining Druids must get out of Arishaig before the survivors of the Federation catch them.Meanwhile, Paxon's sister Chrysallin, possessor of the old wishsong magic, has been abducted from Paranor. Leofur Rai, Arcannen's daughter, friend of Leofur, and life partner of Paxon, sets off in search of Chrys. She instills the help of Imric, a stable hand from Paranor who holds a mysterious secret that, over time, will engulf both him and Leofur in ways they can't imagine.Throughout the course of the story, each group will encounter their own set of trials and tribulations that include a dragon, man-eating plants, and the gradual awakening of feelings that were totally unsuspected, along with the loss of love."The Sorcerer's Daughter" is one of Terry Brooks' best works. The characters remain from the previous books in the "Defenders" series, and their struggles, both physical and emotional, are detailed from the very beginning of the story. Perhaps the character who experiences the biggest change is Leofur, for she goes through a complete change of perspective and feeling. As with all of the books by Terry Brooks, the story is fast-paced, loaded with action, and contains characters that the reader can relate to. Highly recommended.

Good read
This was a good book although my least favorite of the series. It felt like it dragged on especially the chase for arcane Just dragged on over the course of 3 books. I also didn't like the ending where leopard decided to leave Paxon I understand it is life And things change due to personal choices and commitments but this time it just seem Not welcomeher than that good book good read, But short battle at the end to kill the villain. I will read the next series but I am not looking forward to it just cause it seems the series have been redundant over the last few years but I will always be a theory of books fans and I will read to the end no matter what thank you

Best one yet!
I enjoyed this last book in the series the most. It was unexpected and out of the norm for Terry's storyline, which was a nice change from the happily ever after tone.

another good Shannara story
It's actually two stories in one book that take place at the same time and involve different (but related) characters. I'm not sure why the author chose to do this (alternating between the two) because they were almost entirely independent. Anyway, both of the stories were pretty interesting except for all the needlessly protracted explanations of "tethering" (a type of mind-meld between a shape-shifter and his "anchor"). After the first few times, I started skipping paragraphs and then pages of verbosity delving the deepest details of this activity and its ramifications. If it wasn't for this, I would give it 4.5 stars.

Finished with Shannara.
I think this will be my last Shannara book. I have every single one starting with the Word and Void books. But over the years I find that they are all the same. The constant "I have to go forward". "I can't go on", "I must go forward", "I can't go on" with every single character is too annoying. The constant repeating of where they have been and the constant questioning of themselves of the characters is overwhelming. Also, Brooks' use of the word anew throughout the books is just crazy. It's everywhere! "She turned her head anew" "They walked forward anew". "He ran forward anew". (Shaking my head) I am a huge reader who falls into a book and it can seem as if I am there. Brooks' use of anew and the constant repetition of character's indecision makes me suddenly aware I am reading...brings me right out of the book. I am done with Shannara.

Four Stars
I liked the series as it was slightly different from the series of books that Terry Brooks wrote.Oops. This is the book and not the TV series that was released last year. Sorry about the mistake.
