Great Value for a Premium Grain Free Dog Food
My dog has developed severe food sensitivites as he has aged. I have struggled for years to dial in his diet of a mix of kibble and wet food that he can tolerate. This is the best Grain Free wet food I have found for the best price. He is comfortable and gained a little weight back. I am very happy with this product for the price and quality of ingredients. It is produced in Canada which has very strict production guidelines for food production. I highly recommend.

the main ingredient is chicken.
My dog is a picky eater with a delicate constitution so I am very happy to find a food that he likes but that is also good for him. Happy dog, happy mom!

What country are the chickens from and which country is the chicken processed?
I put the same questions on the chicken and turkey page. I am not happy with lack of transparency in the country of origin.Again, I think this is a new Amazon brand. I cannot tell as there are no markings on the cans or box about the country of origin. It says made with quality imported products. What country? It says they are distributed in Colorado, but where are the cans processed? I have posed the question to the community in hopes that the manufacturer will answer. I am not comfortable giving it to my best friend until I get an answer. The price is $16 bucks for six large cans and I wish I had looked at the description better. The Amazon page has less information than the cans.

My ancient dogs loved this
This Simply Perfection Super Premium Grain Free Chicken Dinner Canned Dog Food is a soft, wet, pate that my ancient dogs just scarf right down.I really like that it is grain-free as one of my dogs gets itchy skin when eating grains. The fatty acids also keep their coats soft and shiny. The food is very soft so good for my 17-year-old min pin. And apparently, it's delicious because all 3 of them scarfed it down without hesitation. No issues with digestion or gas, either, after they eat this.I wish it said where the ingredients are sourced from and where it is manufactured, though. I try to buy foods not made or sourced from China because of past issues with pet foods coming out of China. For that reason, I likely won't buy this until I can find out that information. But my dogs do seem to love it.I also wish it was a little less expensive but all premium dog food is pricey.

Soft and Scoopable Dog Food - No Byproducts, No Grains - My Papillon LOVED It
Of the canned dog foods Picky Papillon has been sampling recently, the Simply Perfection chicken dinner was one of the most well received foods of the lot. The ingredient list is by no means short - the first few ingredients include chicken, chicken broth, chicken liver, ground flaxseed, guar gum, salt, potassium chloride, cassia gum, xanthan gum, choline chloride, dired kelp, zinc proteinate, and garlic powder. The list goes on with various herbs, vitamins, and supplments. There are no by products or grains in this dog food, and with the exception of some salt, the ingredients look really quite good for a processed dog food. The texture of this food is unlike other dog foods I've seen - at first it looks like a loaf style dog food, but the food is actually quite soft and easy to scoop. It has the texture and consistency of corned beef hash - it's soft and a bit runny, but still holds its shape slightly when scooped. Because of it's juicy texture, this food is great to mix with kibble as it will coat it very well. My Pampered Papillon loved eating this food both solo and mixed with kibble. He didn't have any digestive issues afterwards, and seemed fine after eating it. While I would prefer to give my dog a raw diet all the time, busy schedules and travel sometimes dictate that my dog has to eat some processed food, and this one seems like a good option. Overall, this is a canned food I would not feel bad feeding my dog, and it's something he enjoys eating - it's definitely worth giving a try. Like all dog foods, dog preferences will vary, so definitely try a can out before buying in bulk - what worked for my dog may not for yours.

Ingredients seem very good
I am picky about what I feed my dogs, and always check the ingredient panel rather than believing what is printed on the front of the can. There were no ingredients listed for this can, so when I got it and read them, I was happy to feed it to my dogs. I included a photo of the back panel of the can. I liked the consistency of the dog food, it was not a hard pate and there are no chunks in it. It was very easy to take out and mix with their dry food, adding some water to make it like a stew. It smelled quite pleasant too, and my 3 cats even got to test taste a spoonful and they gobbled it up.I am not concerned about it not having fruits and veggies in it, I would think that if I threw in 3 or 4 fresh blueberries or cherries, that it would be more than would ever make it into one can even if they did include it in the ingredients. No where on the can does it say it is BPA free though. It is a product of Canada, says Made in Canada on bottom of can. There are plenty of choices for people if they want to buy canned dog food, and this price of about $2.55 a can puts it right smack in there with other canned foods like Merrick, Zignature, Fromm, Earthborn Holistic, but cheaper than Weruva, Lotus, and some Fromm varieties. The best thing to actually do with dog food is buy a variety of products so the dogs get a variety of nutrients. Hopefully no one worries about the garlic or rosemary in this food and both are safe for dogs although you will find many people avoiding it out of fear. I work in a pet food store that sells higher quality food and this can would fit in with our products, but I do have to say the label of the can is not very appealing, and we know people buy things on how they look, so I feel this product would be overlooked even though it is good.I give it 4 stars as it is a quality canned food, with only a handful I feel are better, i.e. Lotus brand, Natures Logic and others, and while canned food is much better than dry food, it still ranks below raw, freeze dried and fresh food for your dog. Still, having canned food in rotation in your dogs diet is great as most dogs do love it as they get tired of just eating dry food.
