Great for use with a corn "zipping" tool when freezing corn.
I bought these gloves to use when I freeze corn in the fall. I use the Kuhn corn zipper tool to get the kernels off of the cob (which also works very well, by the way). However, this tool is VERY sharp and I would not want to use it without gloves like this as you could easily "zip" the skin right off of your hands - ouch! When I got these gloves, I immediately threw them into the washer and washed them on the "antibacterial" setting (very hot) so that they would be clean for my food prep. I have rather small hands (I wear a size 6 or "small" latex glove) and yet these fit me well (not huge, but I do think that someone with larger hands could fit in them as well). I am really glad that I had them on because I ran the zipper into them multiple times. My hands were completely safe, no injury at all. As anyone knows who has frozen corn in batches, it is messy and there is a lot of juice. So, after I was done using the gloves, I again threw them in the wash on antibacterial and they came out GREAT. No damage to the gloves after washing twice on my hottest setting. I would really recommend these gloves.

All my fingers are still intact!
Very nice! Protects my fingers from the sharp mandoline blades and allows me skip using the slice guard, which is clumsy. I was impressed at how supple these felt. I was expecting them to be stiffer and harder to wear, but they almost feel like heavy duty knit gardening gloves. The size was pretty good, not too big and not too tight. I have large-ish hands for a female and shortish fingers. While the tips of the gloves were a little long, like nearly all gloves are for me, I was able to snug them up by pushing them on a little more, which is only accomplished because the fabric is flexible and stretchy enough to do it. They fit my husband's hands nicely, too. I've only rinsed them off once now, but they look like they should hold up to a good soapy rinse just fine.

good but not perfect
Not sure whether I am expecting too much, but this is my test result. I put a small round wood rod in it, I tried to cut it with knife but not really hard. It is OK. when I sliced the knife back and forth for 2-3 times, the knife actually can cut it.The glove looks thin to resist knife. It is probably good for yard work too.

No blood, but glove holes
First time out with my new slicer, I cut the tips off 2 fingers. Better the glove than my fingers, but still... So I'll use the 2nd glove on my at-risk hand, and be more careful.

Seem sturdy but awkward for actual kitchen use
I find I'm not wearing them much; kind of bulky. That is probably just the way it has to be, although they are large on me.

So far these work great fingers have not been sliced yet
So far these work great fingers have not been sliced yet. Finger tips are a bit long but it don't seem to be a problem as of yet.
