I wish I had tried this sooner!!!
I was surprised at the quality of this flux pen! A quick brush of the wire/base to be soldered, and boom - easy joint! No mess/spilling/waste/brush of a liquid dispenser, no goop of a paste. I solder infrequently (this one pen will probably last me a year), but this will be the only way I get my flux in the future. It is slightly more expensive to use the pen applicator, but it is my opinion that the ease of use and the results more than justify the extra expense. If you solder a lot, you may wish to go another route...but I would recommend giving the pen a try. I love it and won't be going back!!! Note: When first starting, you have to push in the tip a little bit to get the flux to flow...after that, you are in business and it is smooth sailing!

works like magic
I was having fits with lead free solder until I tried this is is very effective at wetting the surfaces and a little bit goes a long way. I found that if you add flux to the joint before you solder you can just get a small blob of solder on the iron and it will solder itself the minute it comes into contact. If it is a large through hole joint, it will tack it nicely allowing you to easily add more solder. If it is a small joint (30AWG wire for protoboards) it will fully solder the joint in seconds. I usually remove the flux with IPA, but not sure if that is necessary based on some of the other reviews. I have not tried it with solder wick, but based on how it wicks to large copper pads I expect it would work well for solder wick also. I do agree with the other reviewers about the tip being too large. Luckily I deal with mostly through hole and don't have tight spaces to get into. If you have been soldering without a flux pen dont hesitate to get this, you will wonder how you got along without it.

Great Flux Pen
This is the first flux pen I have used and I was doubtful mainly because of the reviews I read. That being said this is a great product once you get the hand of priming the tip.. It's a bit hard to get the tip loosened up to get the flux flowing but with some gentle pressure using a towel and hand pressure on the felt tip slowly work the tip back into the body and it will start flowing. After that you are good to go. I use it on all my soldering now and it has made a world of difference in the quality of my solder joints especially the fine electronic parts I use for building mini-quads.

It works, but the description should have been clearer.
I didn't realize this wasn't "normal" liquid flux when I ordered it. It is definitely NOT, your typical electronic hobbyist rosin flux. It's made primarily for wave soldering. That said, it DOES work. But it's not easy. I used a syringe, and got decent results soldering headers onto a PCB. It might even be better than rosin flux for this type of thing. But I went ahead and bought a liter of rosin flux anyway.

Great flux
I use this for my electronic products for through-hole and SMD components. this works great. Great price and for 1 liter. This will last me for years...

Must have for soldering
Great flux and I have had no issues at all with the product. I purchased this flux to refill a small flux pen and this has worked out well and I can tell when I don’t use addition flux and depend on the flux core of my solder. The best part is a little goes a long way.

Best Solder Flux Pen for the money
I used this on a recent project and was surprised that it didn't come rushing out and run all over the place. A small dab is all it took for most of parts I was assembling. It becomes tacky quickly, so it helps hold the piece in place while you set the height of the component for through hole, for surface mounts it worked equally as well, tackiness was achieved in only a few minutes. You can always tell a good soldering job when you see it wicked through the lead onto the other side, which was the case every time when I used this flux. This pen should last a person a very reasonable amount of time. Clean up was a breeze, some rubbing alcohol an cotton swab was all I needed. If your on the fence about buying this, don't be, its money well spent.

Works pretty well. It's flux and it comes out every time I press down on it and it stays on the pen tip. I pressed it pretty hard on some thick cables though because I didn't really know how to use it and now the tip is very blunt but it still works fine. I just can't use it for very fine projects anymore but that's my fault.
