I learned that I do not need this item after all. Both my big toes are very bent, but I have no pain in any joints in my toes, so straightening them does not relieve pain. I thought I could avoid further damage, but I don't think this product will do that for me either. Therefore I give a 3 Star rating.I will say they are comfortable (5 stars), well-made, and once I figured out the straps they were easy to use (4 stars). I think they are good quality in terms of materials and construction. I am keeping them for future use, in case I develop bunion/foot pain.I now use toe separators instead whenever I wear closed shoes (sneakers, pumps etc). I think they are a better product for me to keep my toes properly aligned and to prevent further damage. I also look for/buy shoes with a wider toe box to allow more room. I look for a lower heel to keep the pressure off the balls of my feet.

Suggest using Injinji Liner Crew Toesocks to comfortably wear day and night, and (one size larger)Crocs Classic Clog|Comfortable Slip On Casual Water Shoe when walking around during the day. Also one cotton ball on the inside of the toe strap to cushion and help adduct the toe.Only time will tell if it ever remodels the bone enough to avoid surgery.

I've had 2 bunionectomies, 32 years apart and my bunions grew back both times. The big toe is trying to cross over my 2nd toe and the "pain" is more of an irritating pressure. This device provides relief all day long whereas the hard plastic and leather-lever contraptions only work for me while off my feet. Although the contraptions provide faster relief (but I've only worn the sling the past 24 hours and haven't tried adjusting any of the 3 points, nor tried the 2nd tension adjustment), this sling is preferred because I can wear them with oversized fuzzy-lined boots or slippers even during video business meetings from home. When I wear this pair out (which is sturdy and very well made) I will be purchasing them again. BTW, the heel strap is completely adjustable to the length of your foot.

unfortunately, this product did not have any instructions whatsoever on installation and proper adjustment. so, I'm not sure if I'm even wearing it correctly. that being said, after one evening wearing them to the best of my knowledge, my toes were visibly more straight

This item is very comfortable. Easy to wear.

I bought these because it said you could walk in them, which you can; but they are difficult to get on, and usually I just don't feel like fooling with them.
