I bought this textbook for my grad class on cleft palate and craniofacial conditions. It was easy to read, well-organized, has helpful charts, and is full of great knowledge/strategies for working with this population. Upon completion of reading this book, I feel well-prepared to take on future clients in this area.

Jones and Bartlett Leanring has managed to take Dr. Kummer’s well respected work to a whole new level. This text has been a standard in my course and has now been elevated in this 4th edition. The color photographs add an improved demension in illustrating anatomical features. Students are seamlessly guided with Dr. Kummer’s clear and concise writing style and video examples integrated into the flow of the text as they study (each paperback book comes with a code for ebook access). This text offers an excellent balance of technical and practical information sure to inspire seasoned and aspiring clinicians alike! Excellent instructor resources are also made available. If you already own Dr. Kummer’s previous text editions you are going to want to add this one to your library.

Fantastic updates to an already wonderful text. This new edition provides excellent, colorful photos, and concise synopses of crucial content. The new online access to content and videos through Jones and Bartlett is a fantastic addition. Both students and practitioners will enjoy this edition and find it extremely helpful. If you currently have the old edition, it is worth purchasing the update.

This book is full of information that allowed me to grow in the area of cleft palate and craniofacial conditions. It enabled me to feel confident and competent in this area as well as aiding in a GREAT study tool for the Speech-Language Pathology PRAXIS as well as reference for these cases in the work setting for assessment and treatment. I also LOVED how it supplied valuable information on syndromes!

I used this book for a seminar taught by Dr. Kummer at the University of Kentucky. This book was a helpful and useful supplement to the lectures. I highly recommend this book for use during the seminar and for future clinical use. This is a great resource for a speech-language pathologist!

This edition of the text is an excellent update to an essential and foundational text for any professional working in the area of cleft care. Student feedback is that the text is easy-to-read and the learning materials (e.g., visuals; figures) assist with learning the content. This text is highly recommended!
