Humility & Absolute Surrender

The challenge lies in an examination of the inner most parts of your soul. It is a book that I keep going back to the first chapter and reading forward as the content is so deep and life affirming that I don't want to miss one Word as I try to live it out. A must read if you are looking to be like Jesus.

I've been a prolific reader of Christian classics for over 40 years. But THIS one takes the cake! It took me 3 days just to get to page 7! To be such a small volume in page count, it's undoubtedly the largest book in my library for content and depth. I finally finished it after 6 weeks, and over that 6 weeks I've been able to look back and see God's unmistakable fingerprints on my thinking, beliefs, attitudes, priorities, et al.This 1-(tiny)-volume-2-book set isn't for the casual reader. Don't even waste your time and $$$ on it unless you're serious about growing to maturity and fruitfulness in The Lord. But if you are that serious person, buy it, set aside quality, consistent time to read and digest it. Don't be surprised if it takes longer than you expected to read this small volumes. Many to-the-point and hard-hitting passages can arrest you so completely that you just can't read anymore until you've absorbed what you've just read.Helpful hint: have a highlighter, red pen and some little sticky tabs handy to mark certain passages and pages with. I bought a copy for my son-in-law and told him I was tempted to just dip the whole book in yellow ink and save the time.

He was really big on faith, and hís trust in the Lord was simple and very solid. You can't help but know that the Holy Spirit was his constant Guide and Teacher! These two books together are a blessing. Enjoy.

This book is thought provoking and challenges the Christian to follow Christ wth joy and complete abandon. Excellent for the truly committed believer in Jesus.

The books are excellent to read in tandem. Mr Murray has an excellent way of communicating his subject matter and I know the bookswere inspired by the Holy Spirit when I became convicted to seek deeper levels of humility and deeper surrender to God and His will inmy life.

The book Humility by Andrew Murray is of deep importance to the Christian walk, and has been immensely helpful to me currently! Could not recommend higher. This copy is so riddled with typos I would stay away from this copy. Do not let that sway you from getting and reading this fantastic book, just don't get this copy specifically. I'd give a 1/5 because of that but the book is so vital and rich and important I can't possibly give it less than a 4 and even that feels wrong. The book is easily 5/5 and what I would consider essential reading to spiritual growth and transforming yourself to be more like Christ. I don't think any book has helped me and fed me more spiritually than this one. I had to follow along with the audiobook on YouTube to read through some of the errors.
