Interesting and unusual geology cufflinks that would make an ideal gift for a geologist, geography teacher or anyone interested in science and the natural world. A thin rock section of Peridotite was viewed by polarised light microscopy. Peridotite is an igneous rock. From the Ardnamurchan volcano, (at 60 Million years old the most recent volcano in UK) now eroded down almost to the magma chamber, from where this sample would have originally come. Contains olivine, pyroxene and some feldspar. Silver plated cufflinks with a glass dome. The image has been printed onto glossy metal which is sealed underneath a glass magnifying dome which means there are reflections from both the metal and the glass resulting in the image having more 'depth'. Cufflinks measure 18mm across (16mm glass dome) and 25mm deep (from the back of the swivel mount to the front of the glass dome). Supplied in a gift box complete with a description of the image.
