This is your last spreader purchase - UPDATED 2020
Updated April 27, 2020: I finally got the side deflector kit installed and I wish it was a little longer to the front of the spreader. It still throws a little product to the side with deflector down, but no where near as much. Install of that product was pretty simple even though first glace at it made me think it was going to be hassle. I've now used it to spread Humichar, XSoil, CarbonX Pro, Milorganite, and those pretty much cover all spectrums of prill size and it slings it all with ease. The one thing I am waiting for them (or an aftermarket) to create is an agitator to get rid of about 3/8" product left in the bottom of the hopper. That's really the only downfall I have found so far (besides the price).Updated Sept 2019: I've been using this all summer for items listed below along with XGRN & CarbonX Pro. It spreads both well. However, I really needed a side deflector kit and finally called The Andersons. They directed me to Earthway for this kit - not sure if Earthway makes the spreader, but either way it's still a great spreader. I'm still trying to figure out a solution to get all of the fert prills to spread once it gets below the pin that spins the product, but it still gets the job done. The number to order the side deflector kit is 574-848-7491. It's about $89 for just the kit, then a bit more for shipping.-----Easy to assemble. Used it to spread Humic DG and some Ringer. I upgraded from a Scott’s DLX... there is no comparison. I was going to get a Lesco, but took the chance on this instead. It works great for what I need and is really overkill for my yard. But I’m going to double it as a sprayer for the N-Ext products I also use. Oh - and stainless steel frame is the reason I chose this along with the zwerk fittings... spend $$ right the first time and get top of the line.My spreader holes stay completely shut when I push the lever. As for the plastic gears - keep them greased and they will last you longer than a year.So far I have spread out HumicDG, 2 bags of Ringer and some Acelepryn G Insecticide which is very fine. The only issue/nuisance I have right now is the pin that spins around doesn’t push all of the product around the bottom and you have to do the “push-pull-jerk” to get the product into the holes. But by the time you get to that amount of product left you should be pretty much done. I just add extra product and then fling whatever is left out. Nothing I spread can burn my lawn so I honestly don’t worry about measuring what I’m putting down. I just let my lawn tell me when it’s ready to be fed again, which is like a fat kid eating cake - all the time and fast as it can.

Stop buying those box store throw aways!
It's a beast... wider spreader coverage of 8 ft does the jobs in half the time and effort. Anderson spreaders are expensive but the many good things about them soften the cost shock . Anderson products and spreaders are the best for the homeowners who who want something more than average.

I paid how much for this and it has PLASTIC GEARS?!
I bought this spreader after going through several cheap spreaders that would rust out or strip their gears out. I figured this time I would buy the Lexus model that I wouldn't have any issues with. First off I love that it is all stainless steel. But ... the ring and pinion gears are plastic! What a disappointment. Yes I know they technically have a lifetime warranty on the gears, but still. You pay good money for something thinking it's an end all to your issue of poor quality spreaders only to find out the gearing is most likely going to fail in a year or so. The gearing is already cruddy right out of the box. My second issue is there is no way to shut the spreader completely off without holding the shutoff down. When you take your hand off the leaver it snaps open and starts pouring fertilizer whether you are ready or not. How are you supposed to fill it without getting fertilizer everywhere? I see the next level up spreader from Anderson has an auxiliary shutoff that possibly prevents this problem, but this model doesn't have it. I'll call the company to see what we can do, but so far I'm not at all impressed and will most likely be returning the unit.

Sturdy and accurate.
This spreader is a masterpiece and far outshines ALL others.Lesco was nice but started having issues after 2 years with gearing and was never accurate.Still have an Agri Fab that won't see another year.

Not worth the money
This spreader has plastic gears. Put a full bag of fert in it and the gears begin to strip. I would expect much more for 500 plus dollars. Stick with a lesco pro or spyker

Don’t second guess. This is it.
Awesome spreader that’s easy to assemble. Covers wide area and holds 80lb of granular. Great!!
