The product itself is great and does exactly what it says it would
The product itself is great and does exactly what it says it would. We live in Florida where even outdoor TVs simply don't last very long. The TV shield allows us to protect the TV from moisture and water intrusion and we think it will be a better long term option. There are some things to be aware of when buying this product:1. It is absolutely a two man job to install both the TV and the mount. It's harder than it looks2. The 50" TV shield would not hold our 47" TV. We ended up buying a new TV because the cost of the return was so high3. There is some glare if you keep the shield locked and intact all the time. We don't bother, we never watch TV outside in the rain and its simple and easy to simply raise the plexiglass enclosure4. The plexiglass enclosure also has the effect of severely dampening the noiseAlso, as a tip, you can buy wireless signal transmitters for a fraction of the cost of running new cable lines outside. You aren't able to change the channel easily, but for us this doesn't matter as we use the TV primarily for sports and movies. In general, this is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdier alternative to an outdoor tv that can be used with an existing television.

Good buy
I recently purchase this product because buying an out-door TV was not an option, too expensive. Although a bit pricey, it does the trick, i.e. keep the TV safe from the elements. There is a couple problems though, the poles that are used to prop the fron enclosure up can break at the ends because they are made of plastic, so be very careful not to install before you secure the TV inside or they will break. My wife broke mine (both of them) before I even began the installation process. The most difficult part of the set-up is securing the TV inside. If you are not handy you may have a problem. The last thing is if the plastic cover on the front is down (transparent door), the sound will be muffled, they should have installed additional air vents for sound. I leave the front open when watching TV, and close it when I'm not. Also it is a bit difficlut to close the thing up becasue of its flexibility. You have to have patience because it is difficult to close it because of its flexibility, and not to mention locking it. All in all I would recommend it.

Works as expected
Seems very durable and was really one of the only ones we could find for our tv outside. There is a definite flare if you try and watch during the day but I would imagine most would have the glare. The plastic piece you can lift has metal bars at the sides to hold open which causes the middle to sag a little - it seems very expensive (more than tv itself) and it is literally just very thick plastic. As far as durability we bought on recommendation of a friend who has had for 3 years and it does the job!

This enclosure was better than expected
This enclosure was better than expected. I didn't install it, I had a handyman do it for me but it protects my TV great and I have a lot of exposure to rain. I almost always open the enclosure when I watch TV because 1. I use the sound from the TV and 2. The reflection from the protective screen is annoying. Its easy to seal and open the screen but I'm not thrilled with the way the metal bars used to keep the screen open have to be connected or removed. You would think they could find a way to make a slider that doesn't require storing away these bars. Also I don't like the clunkiness of pushing up the screen with the bars and the rubber holding the bars in place. It just seems like the bars could slip off at any time.

TV shield
The product arrived quickly as said, I did have to pay brokerage fees (I am from Canada). Make sure you have all the cables attached to the TV that you plan to use because once the TV is attached to the Shield you are not able to attach any thing that is located on the back. The locking mechanism does not work, the locks were not long enough to reach the pre-cut slots??The shield does provide protection and was easy to mount, I used a hinged mount so it could move around. All in all it does what it says, I am happy with the result overall.

Measure
Measure your TV exactly. Compare with the dimensions of this. Donโt just assume your TV will fit. Depends if itโs measured diagonally or across. I had to return the original and get a bigger size.

Not enough anti-glare
Anti-glare really doesn't help even with the screen turned away from the sun. We invested over $50K in an outdoor living room so I don't feel we went cheap with the protective anti-glare cover due to the fact it's outside in Chicago all year. I'll write another review once I find out what the company will do to fix the issue.Update June 2020I called Brooke with TVsheild In early June with no return call. Still unable to watch tv outdoors unless at night. Brooke asked me to send in current pictures of the glare. Contact me please!
