The Art of Godzilla: King of the Monsters

A wonderful book for movie and art lovers
The book arrived promptly, was packaged well, and arrived in excellent condition. My granddaughter was thrilled with this book. She is a Film student, and loves the artwork inside the book, as well as getting information about the movie itself.

Good book with some great monster art
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and especially all the art of the monsters. There are some great, moody illustrations in this book showcasing the big 4 monsters from the film. What I feel is lacking, and was ignored totally, were the new Titans that were introduced in this film. There are no pictures of them included and therefore no concept art to show the thinking behind their development. My other complaint, which is my opinion alone, is that it's a bit too heavy on location art and character profiles where there could have been more pages devoted to the monsters.

Beautiful Hardcover with plenty of concept art
I have been collecting the Legendary art books for their MonsterVerse and Pacific Rim series. This feels like the weakest as far as actual content goes. None of the supporting kaiju have concept work and rather than in depth discussion on design the books opts for a shallow exploration of a quantity of topics (Jonah Alan's turtleneck get's more page time than Titan Behemoth). It's still nice to have and the artwork is phenomenal, but the glaring omissions bring this down a notch for me. It does make me appreciate the Kong Skull Island and Godzilla Art of Destruction books more

Splendid!
This is one of coolest concept art book I have. It provides everything I wish to see from a Godzilla concept art book, so pleased.

Titanis Gojira
This is a wonderful "coffee table" art book on the subject of "Godzilla: King of the Monsters." It describes what motivated the people behind the making of the film, and how it was brought to the screen. The book contains numerous examples of pre-production art, finished concepts, and stills from the movie. If you are at all "into" Godzilla, this is a must have.

Not enough coverage on original ( non Toho) Titans for me
The art is fine but I was sorely disappointed that there is very little info on the designs of the other Titans. Only the four main monsters are covered in any detail ( although these monster’s coverage were well done) and little to no information the other supporting monsters. They were some great designs and I was really looking forward to info on their design process. The art that is in the book is beautiful so if you are just interested in the main monsters and vehicles you probably like it just fine.

Very important for anyone who is a fan of the Big G.
This is such a beautiful book. Don’t pay attention to the 2 star review. It’s complete and utter BS. This book has A LOT of focus on the Monsters and Godzilla of course. It’ll definitely make a great collection to your Godzilla collection!

It's great!
Because of a few poor reviews I wasn’t originally going to get the Blu-Ray of Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Then I thought, what the heck, I’ve been watching Godzilla movies since the ’60s and have all the others on DVD.To my surprise, it wasn’t just better than I expected, it was better than every other single Godzilla movie since the first one. That’s the Japanese original. The Americanised watered-down version with Raymond Burr just isn’t the same film and doesn’t count. I watched G:KotM three times in as many weeks. I then bought three of the t-shirts (Rodan is my favourite) which I can’t wait to wear when the weather gets warmer and I won’t care who laughs at a 71-year-old man wearing garish colourful monster tees. Wear your Godzilla with pride! Then I went and ordered this book which arrived a couple of hours ago. It’s hefty and not a little heavy with decent quality paper. The text, of which there is plenty, is all interesting. But it is the artwork, which consists primarily of detailed pre-production slash concept material, is where it excels. It’s sometimes quite different from the filmed version which makes it even more interesting. At a penny under thirty quid, it isn’t cheap but if you loved the movie, it’s worth it.

A really good meh
Not as good as the first art of Godzilla book, which gave everything it had involved in the project. This gives you some good stuff but was not what I was hoping for. Especially when the internet keeps releasing better stuff than what was in half of this book. Not quite worth the full value, wait till it’s redu

More than expected
This book is so much more than expected. My son (22) is a Godzilla fanatic and historian and it’s hard to find a gift that’s ‘out of the ordinary’ but this hit the mark!!
