Inexpensive, Convenient, and Works Great
I love this thing. I’m not super familiar with pressure washers (I’ve rented gas-powered units a few times in the past), but I honestly don’t see how it could get any better. Good instructions, easy and quick to assemble, lots of spray tips, one-handed quick-connect fittings, clever storage for tips, cord, and hose, excellent pressure, easy to use, and fairly quiet (I know this isn’t a grammatically sentence, but it makes my point). Best of all, everything works great, and the Sun Joe was relatively inexpensive. I spent about 6 hours washing my house’s limestone and hardy board siding, and the walls now look brand new and freshly painted. I started with the 40 degree tip and switched to the 25 to get a little better concentration, and it was just like spray painting—one pass, and all the mold and ingrained red dust was gone. I also spent some time cleaning my very moldy stone patio and walkways with the same result; one pass, and the greeny/blacky stones were bright and colorful. The only minor issue that I noted was that the hose adapter fitting occasionally worked a little loose from the pressure washer. I had only hand tightened it, so a little extra wrench with the channel locks will probably take care of that. I didn’t use the detergent tank, so I can’t rate how that works. By the way, every single lawn tool I own is gas powered—I had sworn off electric lawn tools forever, because I don’t get along well with extension cords—but I took a chance with this tool, and am very happy that I did. I actually prefer it to a gas-powered model.

Happy customer, get the HD extension
Just finished my first big job with the SPX4000, power washing our large home including 1200 sq ft of wood decking. Very satisfied overall. Did have a little trouble with the shipped hose connector with an old hose, but when I used a high quality hose (with good brass fittings), worked great, no leaks. No need to upgrade that connector if you use a good hose. Sometimes, very rarely, it would pause to build up pressure. This mostly was at first startup. By far, most of the time, it kept up with me no problem. The various tips worked well - I switched between 0, 15, and 25 degree tips depending on how far I need to blast, as well as how soft the material was. Great flexibility. I just kept the tips in my pocket and switched easily as needed. One downside for me. The 20 foot hose is too short. After the first day of use, and moving the washer more than I wanted, I ordered the 25 ft HD extension right away (I should have just ordered it originally). Well worth it! The rest of my job went much easier, with much less moving of the washer. No noticeable drop in pressure either. Highly recommend getting that extension, unless you know you only need a short span. Both hoses easily can be stored, hanging off the designated spot on the SPX4000. I am glad I did not buy the 4001, since I doubt both hoses would fit. The 30 ft electrical cord is a good length, no need for an extension, and probably not a good idea anyway. Between 30 ft of electrical cord and 45 ft of hose, a lot of ground can be covered without moving the washer.

If I could give 4.5 stars I would!
**Disclaimer, if I could give 4.5 stars I would** First off, I would like to thank Amazon Warehouse deals....I got this as 'Used-like new' and they got it to me in 2-days....from Seattle, Washington to the Orlando, Florida area. Kudos to them, I am sure they lost some money shipping this thing. Ok, on to the pressure washer itself. We picked this up because our old one, which was given to us by friends, sound like it is going to explode and wants a peaceful end. So I found this on Amazon, reviews looked good and Amazon warehouse deals had a good price on this (and a lot of accessories!). I chose this particular model over the next higher version of Sun Joe because of that less than favorable reviews on the hose winch that one has. This one just has the plastic caddy, and it works fine even with the optional hose extension. My old one was a 1500psi, so that puts this one about 500psi stronger. I had no issues putting it together (literally snap on one piece). I ran this thing yesterday (11/10/17) for a good 6-7 hours, with another hour this morning. No issues at all, it performed well the whole time. I have attached a video to show how it worked. The video shows this operating on the one part of my sidewalk that my old pressure washer could not clean (neither could just straight bleach). Due to the shade it gets from a tree, and the fact that water pools in this area really makes the dirt/algae persistent. This was the majority of my day, as most of those 6-7 hours where on these four sidewalk slabs. I have a second video, which Amazon does not let me upload located here: youtu.be/yre0c8HvFJQ Just showing normal grime removal. So why did I give it 4 stars? It is because of the wand attachment pole that it comes with. I am about 6'2" and it is a little short, and would not have been pleasant to use. Luckily from my old washer, I had a longer want piece and it fit and worked perfectly. If I did not have this, I do not think I would have enjoyed using it for 6-7 hours. If Sun Joe could just include a longer one, 5 stars. The picture I attached shows the Sun Joe one on the left, and the one I had on the right. Pros: - Seems powerful enough for what I need it to do, I have bad luck with gas powered things... - Wheels - Holds the wand, nozzles, power cable and the hose nicely - Soap dispenser!! Previously I had one of those little bottles, and it sucked refilling that every 10 feet. this built in one is easy to use and large! - Fairly quiet, although I was listening to music the whole time.... Cons - The only issue I have is with the short wand attachment part

I was really torn on the 4000 vs the 4001 w/ hose reel, but based on the reviews of the 4001 and the reel being useless, I went with the 4000, and really glad I did. I understand why a reel wouldn't work well, or break.. the hose is extremely rigid, and would fight the reel with every wind. Save the $50, and buy the extra 25' hose instead. Speaking of which, the 20' hose it comes with is the one downside, as it really limits functionality. It pretty much forces you to buy the 25' extension hose, otherwise you'll always be moving the power washer around. That's a pain fussing with the garden hose, pressure line, and power cord. Plus all that movement is going to weaken the garden hose connector. It's likely the reason for leaks. Pros: the wide stance prevents it from falling over. It's very easy to move around. 2 pressure selections. The entire unit is well constructed, and very solid. All the connections are metal, and top quality quick connects. From other reviews, it appears SunJoe has good customer service. The trigger on the gun is very comfortable, and requires minimal effort to squeeze. Lots of power cord, with a GFI. As an FYI, the MATCC foam gun works perfectly with the sunjoe, and costs much less. Last thing: when the hose is connected and tap turned on, squeeze the handle on the gun until you see water streaming out. This fills the pump, and prevents it from running dry. Now plug in the power cord, and turn the unit on. Doing this before every use will significantly lengthen it's life.

Disclaimer, this is my first pressure washer* IHave been using this machine for a month now for washing multiple things : House sidings on 2 storey house, patio deck, front porch, car, garbage bins etc. Pressure Select is a nice feature however I found myself only using the Max PSI (2030 PSI) with the different nozzles. So far : Pros : - Good pressure, tackled every job I tried (even washing at heights with the extension pole sold separately). - QUIET, and only runs when you need it. No pissed off neighbours ! - Very stable design, won't tip over easily because of wide wheel base. - Pressure select is definitely a convenience if pressure is needed but you don't want to peel off paint or damage finishes. - External detergent tank with bottom drain is easy to fill and clean after use. Cons - The design for Power cord / water intake and Pressure hose is weird. It takes some management to not trip over of make a giant knot while working. Found after couple uses you get used to it and work around. No big deal. - 20' Pressure hose may be too short for some uses (Sun Joe sells a 25' extension - The placement of the Pressure Nozzles is very low. If you tackle a job that requires a lot of changing nozzles to get the desired results, expect to be bent down often to reach to the Nozzle storage. Maybe by the Handlebar would be better ? - My 15° Nozzle seems to make the machine freak out and renders it useless. Sounds like it's trying to build pressure but the machine works fine with other nozzles (0°, 25, 40 and Soap) Undecided : - The plastic fitting for the hose intake feels cheap. No love for brass ? - Sun Joe proprietary fittings that aren't like the rest of the Pressure washing world. Overall this is a great machine. Don't fool yourself, the Cons aren't dramatic, but more things to think of. This obviously isn't a gas pressure washer but I found it delivers more than enough for general household maintenance and sturdier washing (such as House siding wash). To complete the kit, I ended up buying : - Pressure Washer Coupler 1/4" Quick Connect Pivot adapter to get 45° Angles while cleaning at heights. - Sun Joe SPX ESW 5.5 Foot aluminum Extension (extends your reach up to 9' total!) - A foam canon for car wash with quick connect tip. This is all good stuff, obviously can't talk about long term reliability just yet. Will definitely update this review once it has more "milage"
