as an electrical engineer {retired } this is one of the better stand alone PIRs because you can switch on a fan up to 75 watts 240 volts,many of the very cheap one don't .I am using this device to operate an extractor fan in my shower room .as the original device also a time guard has failed after 7 years ,.some tips make sure you don't site this device over a radiator or near an open window or a device that sprays air freshener in to the room or near the door to the room .[I have mine in a false ceiling } .if you need to turn a lot of lights on even discharge light it can be done if you use a contactor to take the main load and just use this device as the   .I can give people advice if they need it but as it can be complicated you are best getting a decent spark in .and if you are a spark you will know what I am talking about ..to end a decent device a little on the expensive side and the springs that hold the device in place are very stiff and I suggest that you set the time BEFORE you place the device in your ceiling because once its in its a sod to remove and to replace ...and you may find that once removed it wont go back as good as it first when it .

I purchased this product as a replacement for an exact model which failed after 3 years of use. I identified this as the correct replacement after some google searches because I didn't have any product details from my original Timeguard. The product arrived very fast and it was very easy to fit if you are familiar with a bit of wiring. It took about 5 minutes after getting the existing unit down from the ceiling and getting the right screwdriver ready. including completely switching off and then on the electricity. Mine is connected to turn on a ceiling fan and some LED lights and I have set it to come on all the time based on motion sensor only regardless of daylight or darkness. I also use the long timer setting so the fan stays on for the maximum time (which is about 15-20 minutes I think). It works very well and I don't know why the previous unit failed (I took the old unit apart after removing it from the ceiling but I couldn't figure out if it was possible to fix it - it has a circuit board and I didn't know what to look for). In my case changing the unit all together was very easy and it did the job for me.I was able to push down the existing unit from above the ceiling, otherwise I don't think I could have removed it without damage to the ceiling plasterboard because the springs are very strong.All i al, very please with the seller and product.

The media could not be loaded.  Ive knocked off one star coz sometimes it goes off when theres no movement (so when I go to bed, I turn the light off from the switch) but outside of that, its really helped - when I come home, I would have to walk a few feet in darkness in order to turn on the light in the landing.

360 DEGREE FLUSH MOUNT CEILING PIR SWITCHES.Now fitted and works exactly as expected, turns lights on as you approach and then off again later as is supposed to.Nice and slim fitting so does not protrude too far and looks great.Well worth getting.

Large block connection for multiple wires

The description states that this is IP44 rated for outdoor use, but the instructions in the box say indoor use only. I'm confused.
