The NPR Curious Listener's Guide to Celtic Music Paperback – February 1, 2005

Glad I purchased this. Very informative.

I was very disappointed with this book. It is quite superficial. It reads as if it is the source of her comments for her NPR show, "The Thistle and the Shamrock" . Since her show has been aired for decades, I would have thought that she would have deep knowledge of Celtic music, that she would be eager to share . Apparently not.

This 2005 guide provides a solid introduction for the novice interested in learning more about Celtic music beyond Riverdance. Ritchie' s program, Thistle & Shamrock continues to expand upon this guide which can be referred to as a basic Celtic music reference resource.

Good when it came out. Now quite dated.

Awesome concise overview of Cltuc music and the history behind it. Got one for me and my fiddle teacher!

Fiona Ritchie knows what she's talking about. This book is a delightful and insightful guide to one of my favourite genres.

Just received - looking forward to learn more about Celtic music
