Not Much to Laugh At.
This film has not aged well. Robin Williams actually seems out of place in this film as a wacky pastor who insists that those he will consider to wed, must pass various challenges. That grows old quick. There is one particular scene where the husband-to-be must carry around two life-like dolls that are hilarious! Hard to believe there is only one side-splitter scene in this story and sadly it is not Robin Williams .

A comedy, not a how to video
I am not sure what some of the people writing negative views were thinking. You really shouldn't have to comment that this is not an actual "how to" video, narrating an actual marriage prep (if you expect it to, you will be disappointed). It bears no resemblance to an actual catholic marriage prep, if it did there wouldn't be a priest involved, there are too few left. Anyway. This is a hysterical and farcical look at marriage prep and marriage in general. The priest (Robin Williams) and his little "helper" are hysterical. Those commenting how it is unrealistic, of course it is, it is a comedy! If your underwear is not on too tight and you want a laugh out loud movie, then you should get this. If you want a documentary on marriage prep or a completely realistic narrative, go somewhere else! Have fun and enjoy!

A bland tale full of two-dimensional characters
I thought this movie would be a good romantic comedy with a large dose of Robin Williams humor. Instead, I got a very bland, boring and unfunny film. The two romantic leads are easy on the eyes, but their characters are pretty two-dimensional. We never get a sense of who they are, why they fell in love, or even what they do for a living. Robin Williams, who excels at playing complex characters, here plays a pretty stereotypical priest with a few quirks. We don't get any insight into why he does what he does, what he was like as a younger man, or any discussion of his views on God (it's also very strange that he so rarely mentions god given that he is a priest). There isn't much conflict in this movie: The lovers have a brief spat over something really silly that they work out pretty easily, and that's it. I'm not even sure Rev. Frank would have thought this episode worthy of a movie: it sounded like he had many other couples take his course who were much more interesting. All in all, the story didn't capture my interest and the humor wasn't very funny, therefore I have to give this a pretty low score. "Man of the Year" is much better if you want a good Robin Williams comedy from this time period, but even R.V. is better than this.

Chick flick but funy as well.
I think this is the perfect movie for the situation were the woman wants a chick flick but but the man wants a few laughs. I found it funny but there was some serious notes to the movie. This was a kind of serious movie with a some good jokes and some not so good ones. I give it a 5 out of 5 because I felt it plays to both sexs about right. Most men hate sitting down to watch a chick flick but this one provides some rather funny comedy and some not so great so that the dude can stay interested.HD quality: 5stars I don't recall any sceens with grain or anything.Audio: was quite good as well. I use a 5.1 system. For most this may not be a collection addition but it is still a good one to rent.

Typical comedy, good actors/actresses
Just like most comedies, this film is over the top at times. I think they overdid the religious references which was off-putting even for someone OK with religion. Quite a bit of funny moments and a good overall life lesson. There were a lot of actors from "The Office" throughout: Kelly, Angela, Jim, Kevin. Overall, I'd recommend.Seeing Robin Williams' acting was nostalgic. May he rest in peace.

A fairly good romantic comedy
License to Wed sees Mandy Moore, Robin Williams and John Krasinski star in a romantic comedy where Robin Williams plays a reverend who has a course that engaged people must undertake to be able to be wed by him. Moore and Krasinski are the couple who are engaged and decide to undertake the course with some funny incidents along the way making for a film with some good laughs for a rom-com.I enjoyed the film but did find some characters a little annoying and so this marked the film down a star for me but it is still worth checking out.

License Revoked
The storyline it self, has a wide range of corners and routes which could easily make this film a laugh-out loud comedy for everyone, sadly, this is not the case. The characters, are all very unlikable, Robin Williams is not even that funny in this movie, I would consider this movie more of a romance film than a comedy.I watched it, it slightly amused me, and now it will most likely gather dust for years to come. This movie is not 'breaking boundaries' nor does it leave me in stitches. This movie is worth a rent rather than a purchase.

Good Morning Vietnam meets a wedding
Saw this as part of celebrating a wedding anniversary. Best to describe it as Good Morning Vietnam meets a wedding. Robin Williams as good as usual, I wonder how much was scripted. In short a marriage course from Hell!!! My wife and I did one but nothing like the one depicted in the film thank goodness.

License to Wed
I found parts of License to wed just to be a bit annoying, well pretty much the whole film, and its not that funny. But once again Robin Williams plays his role brilliantly, it doesn't matter how bad the film was, he is always worth watching.

second hand dvd
I've been buying second hand dvd's as a way to increase my otherwise unaffordable collection. I'm very pleased with my purchases. They have all arrived well packaged, on time and in the quality that has been described [very good].
