Must Have ...
This is one of the best Sanskrit-English rendition of the Gita I have read. The format is very unique and uncluttered: it has the original Sanskrit text, followed by a raw word-by-word Sanskrit to English transliteration (great if you are curious to see what the Sanskrit text is actually saying and how it is structured), followed by a "traditional" but very nice English translation, followed sometimes by a small commentary in English to clarify some points. This format draws you into the scripture like none other I have seen before, without having to plod through reams of commentary. You look at this timeless scripture with new eyes - your own! Must have if you don't want to go through reams of other people's (sometimes overly pedantic) opinions and interpretations. This almost 110 year old English translation from the house of Swami Vivekananda is one of the best I have experienced. You should too.

A very good translation
This is an easy to follow and a very good translation, combined with a helpful and to the point commentary. Highly recommended for those reading Bhagavad Gita for the first time.

Best Bhagwat Geeta
Very nice book, original text with word meaning. Not big interpretations make it unique. It is not colored by different ideas of different vedantic school. There is a value in reading the original.

Good book but has issues, not suitable for everyone.
I have just finished reading 3 chapters, 1.Some printing mistakes in sanskrit verses,2. uses old english for explaining.3. does not explain all words,4. explanation is too crisp to motivate people to study.5. Some times sanskrit terms are used as it is in english explanation.

I was looking for a concise translation of the Gita with word for word meanings and this serves the purpose very well. It's great if you're trying to improve your Sanskrit and want to read the verses in their original language, with a quick understanding of their literal meaning.

You got to know some sanskrit, to read this book. Not essentially, but, well, if you want to understand something atleast and read without feeling lime your brain is getting tangled up.

Gita
This was first publiched in 1909. The commentary is powerful without being a distraction from the translation. It was printed in India. I have not been having very much success with translations printed in America. i have a number of translations from India including the complete translation of the mahabharata by both Dutt and Ganguli. After years of research I am beginning to understand the context of the Gita and the requirement to read various translations in order to appreciate the next life.
