worth every penny!
Any Laser/system will work with this unit...hey, its laser activated. Best practice dry fire system yet! Want to improve your trigger control or improve your holster draw speed and accuracy? Use this LaserPet! Set it on program two and it will blow your mind. Timer starts randomly, draw and 'fire', timer stops (if you hit it with laser) and shows your draw time. Unit resets itself..holster your gun quickly, then wait for the timer to start again. Think your good? Slip in a smaller target card and see if you can hit that! Fun stuff and you will find yourself competing against your self. Great dry fire practice. If you have other Laser systems, use this PET along with the other laser targets. Again, program 2 on this unit will get you hooked! and, more importantly, make you a better shooter, period!

Funnest of all
I've had lots of fun with his since receiving it. If you are considering buying this, I am sure you have watched youtube videos. If you haven't you should. It functions as the say. It's easy to set up and versatile and fun. You can practice your draw as well as work on marksmanship. I've even used it with a 223 with laser cartridge. The key is that it's easy to set up and has enough variety to keep your interest

I would have loved it. This unit has a fourth function that I didn't even know was available. It has a function that allows you to take a shot, reload, then shoot again and it will tell you your time between shots. This is a better way of judging reload times than using the stress function the way the manufacturer describes. Problem is, IT DOESN'T WORK! It powers on and the functions seem to operate, but the screen won't pick up any hits. Used my SIRT and laser ammo, neither worked. I am having to return the unit. Will have to try to get another somehow. Note: for anyone thinking there must be some protective film over the screen for shipping, that is not it, I checked. I would highly recommend this for training IF it actually worked. Very disappointed.

I'm satisfied
To the negative reviews or comments: Yes, it's made of plastic and probably cost about $10 to manufacture. Yes, it has no data storage or bluetooth transfer to a phone app for long term trend analysis. Those are legitimate critiques of this device, especially at this cost. That's why I subtracted one star. Some context is needed for all dry fire aids. ALL of them are limited. I've tried at least 10 products up to and include the laser target from Salt of the Earth -- the "cadillac" laser target in my opinion, and not one of them checks off all the boxes you would probably want -- and almost all of them seem way overpriced. An assessment of a laser target starts with the laser detection. Red, Infrared, green, even blue. You have to start with that. Are your target and laser compatible? Many are not, and it's not just the color "name". For example, not all red lasers are the same. Others have reported that some red lasers aren't compatible with this target and the product info is very careful to denote that. There are differences in laser intensity, "color" frequency, and "shot" pulse duration -- any one of which could make your target insensitive to your laser source. I use the CoolFire training system the most, with both a visible red, and infrared laser. I'm happy to report that this LaserPetII will detect both. Yes, confirming it detects both the visible red and the infrared laser pulses from my Coolfire system. Others have reported the opposite for this target and Coolfire lasers but mine works fine. This target has 6 useful practice routines. It won't be easy to upgrade because it's firmware instead of a phone app. There are some decent phone apps out there, but I like the simplicity of this device, and the ability to engage multiple targets in a 360 degree simulated environment. It is made of plastic and it weighs next to nothing even with the AAA batteries installed. Would be very easy to travel with if you could somehow also take your training pistol. It seems reasonably well made. The battery door cover is easy to remove and replace. The buttons have a definite tactile feel. The build quality seems OK - again not as good as you might expect for this price point --but OK and certainly on par (quality per price) for many other laser training aids. So far my target works just fine.Finding a target that will detect infrared "shots" from a Coolfire is not easy. So far, I've only found this target and the Keiron. This target has much more functionality than the Keiron, but at about twice the price so choose for yourself. At first I was put off by the small target size (less than 2" at it's biggest) -- until I took a training course by the great Dave Spaulding. This LaserPet target size is pretty similar to Dave's famous "orange dot drill", so I've changed my tune on the small size being a problem. As mentioned, most of these dry fire "tools" are incredibly over-priced. All of them. Well maybe the phone app products (just the app, no device) aren't too bad. I don't know why they seem to be so overpriced. Liability issues? Whatever. If you want a decent dry fire target and you have a compatible laser source, this one is worth a look in my opinion. With .22 training ammo currently pushing 10 cents a round -- if you can find it at all -- dry fire is as important as ever. I'm quite satisfied with this one, but I agree you need to determine if it will work for your needs, and your laser source.

Excellent training tool
I have been a handgun enthusiast for over 20 years. I've done all sorts of training for shooting. Though most competitive shooters use a Range timer, this is a great alternative to live fire. There are 4 Modes: 1) Records the number of hits 2) Times you from the audible prompt to the time you hit the target. 3) Tallies the number of hits in a four second interval, and 4) Counts the interval between two shots. The target area is quite small. There are several overlays: IDPA. 1 inch, 1/2 inch, full screen, and laser. The overlays slide into a slot at the top of the unit. There is a power switch, mode selector and a reset button. There is audible feedback for each shot recorded, but the volume is not adjustable. There is no memory on where you made the shot, only times you on your shot, reports the number of shots or the time between the first and second shot. It is not a conventional target system where you see where you hit.A tripod stand is included which allows for table top operation, or it can be mounted onto a wall. It uses 2 AAA batteries.I use this in conjunction with my NLT SIRT Glock 17 Red Training pistol. I practice marksmanship, shooting from the draw, and controlled pairs.I also have Laserlyte targets which registers hits but this has more training utilities. It is a great training tool, orientation to beginners in shooting, great for competition preparation and a well designed product.Obviously, you need a laser activated system such as a SIRT or Laserlyte add-On for your firearm. This definitely gets a two thumbs up by me.

Simple, fun and great training.
I use all 4 drills and just use a strikeman laser cartridge.
