Works perfect on 2014 GMC 2500HD LML
The threads are cut right without burs or rough/sharp threads. On my generation LML Duramax the stock nipple has a 24mm hex head aka 15/16 in freedom units, the older Duramaxs with need a nipple extractor. The new filter adapter was installed with a ratchet square drive; don't over torque it. I used a Donaldson P551807 filter instead of the CAT to save a few pesos with the same level of protection. Add 11 quarts instead of the usual 10 and prefill the oil filter with about a pint to just saturate the large filter media to help with the initial dry start. You can't prefill the oil filter because it is mounted horizontally.

I love my truck . I drove a semi over 30 years . The up grade is awesome. I rebuild engines the filter is the most important part of the life of your engine. Small filters will bypass oil . This oil is not filtered and can scar your crank. I have had to replace many of them due to scars to deep to repair. Use red lock tight when you install it. You cant go wrong with this. I wish i could do this on all my veh. This is worth it's weight in gold if you know anything about engines rebuilding and how the oil bypass works.

Good quality fitting. Installed on a 2007.5 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD LMM Duramax. I used a Donaldson P551807 filter instead of the the CAT 1R-1807.

Just about perfect!!
Worked perfectly but if you buy this, go to Home Depot or Lowe’s (got mine at HD) and get a set of plumbing stem extractors to remove the old one from your truck. There’s 6 in a pack for $10.00 and one will work. Put the extractor up to old piece, tap with a hammer and remove with socket wrench. Works like a charm. You can almost put two of the ac delco filters inside the Caterpillar filter, it’s HUGE!

This is exactly as it's supposed to be. Good piece. Filter fitting is perfect and no leaks. Don't over tighten, filters only get "hand tightened". 2006 GMC sierra 2500hd Duramax.
