neoStat V2 Programmable Thermostat - Glacier White

I previously used nest - and was a bit nervous about changing to Heatmiser. We needed to do so as we swapped to underfloor heating, and a zoned system. This thermostat works really well though. Not as fancy as a nest, but very well thought out, and works well. Even the app isn't bad (after getting used to it).

You can use these as programmable thermostats or programmable timers: I am using 4 (!) of these to control towel rail heaters in bathrooms around the house as programmable timers, to save on power and have something stylish (at least as far as thermostats go!)I am very satisfied: they were easy to install (with the helpful wiring schemes provided in the instructions), I set them up in minutes and they look good I’m a way that does not take away from the nice decor we have in the bathrooms and does not get noticed.I also like how the display turns on when you wave your hand near the buttons.I would definitely recommend.

As a replacement for a failed unit of the same type, great, however as for a new install there are better makes out there at the same price.I would not have used this for a new install as the user interface is a bit clunky and not the easiest to use.Really needs battery back-up for these mains powered ones, all settings lost if you have a power cut.Not as easy to set up when getting them to work via the internet as it may appear from the instructions.Check what else is out there before buying these as a new installation.

Bought this thermostat to control radiators in the bedrooms. It's wirelessly connected to a NeoHub that controls underfloor heating in the rest of the property. Straightforward to install and pair up to the NeoHub. I would recommend that you recalibrate the temperature setting to ensure it is setup correctly (the manual describes how to do this). The NeoHub can be controlled remotely through the internet and a couple of years ago I was able to see the temperature in each room and switch the heating on, whilst crossing from New York to Southampton on the Queen Mary2 ship.

This system is not intuitive to use but have been forced to use it as inherited it from previous owner. Needed 3 new units, after 2x v1 units failed (heating wouldn't come on for the designated areas) + a Hot water timer display unit failed completely. After much fault finding, no power on the switch line out to cause the boiler to fire for the heating units. Bought x2 v2 units to replace + a HW unit timer. Had difficulty pairing unit to the NeoHub initially, but moved the hub closer to the units and they paired fine. Conclusion drawn was that the issue was due to some local interference caused by a cabinet fan motor and the hub also sitting on top of an extension block cable (now not), with v2 units not being able to hold enough signal for the hub 'to see them'. Still working after small hub site adjustment. Once paired appears (fingers crossed, touch wood and all that) to be stable.
