Works well with SereneDrains linear drain.
Fits nicely into the Serenedrains linear drain and was cheaper. Really good at catching hair and other debris. Easy to remove and clean.

Perfect Fit for 2" drain opening
I purchased this Hair and Debris Strainer because the one that came with my 36" Linear Shower Drain was to long and it would cause the water to back up and not drain properly. This strainer is actually shorter in length but is wide enough to fit a 2in opening (because of the bar that comes attached to the strainer.) Most strainers that fit a 2" opening are too long for my remodeled shower.By the strainer being shorter it allows water to drain properly in my remodeled drainage system. My remodeled shower drain is shorter..... after the 2in opening in most drainage systems, the "J" or elbow portion of the drainage is about 4-5 inch away from shower grate. In my remodeled shower I had to shorten my drain system. When I remodeled my bathroom I wanted to make my standup shower where you could just walk in without having a ridge/small boarder to contain the water and by doing that I had very small area to work with the drainage system....my shower floor has about a 25degree angulation away form the opening of the shower door to allow for water to drain towards the shower wall and not the middle of the shower like most showers.Because of this the original strainer was about 1in away from the drain elbow of the drain pipe and at the rate, water would go down the drain at a fast rate which would not allow enough time for the water to drain properly causing a backup. With this strainer being shorter, but still wide enough for a 2in drain hole, it completely solved my problem because of it's shorter length.

Works for my drain
This style is the only one that works for my shower drain. It works as intended, but some minor "upgrades" would make it even better - 1) have the bar slightly longer 2) have the basket be closer to 2" diameter, my drain is 2" and it wobbles in there (I knew the dimensions and was hoping it'd have a tighter fit) 3) polished stainless would have been nice and easier to clean. Overall, good product. It catches what it needs to and not too much as I don't want to be cleaning this thing all the time.

Problem Solved
This was the solution to our drainage problem. Our new renovated shower was very slow to drain. In fact, you’d be in about an inch of water after you turned of the shower. We even had a plumber come to the house twice to unplug the pipe. He told us about this strainer and since we’ve had it we have no drainage problems at all. It really solved our issue. It works great.

It Won’t Catch All Hair
The side bars do not allow the hair catch to fully fill into the drainage pipe. It will work, but not well. I recommend the Danco 3 pack. They are tapered so that fit snug.

Better draining than regular strainer
I bought this to replace the stock strainer that came with my linear drain. What makes this different and better are the oval side holes, vs the circular side holes that are on my stock strainer. The oval holes are bigger and allow water to flow through better, and are less prone to clogging from hair, lint, sock fuzz, etc. The stock strainer was clogging every few days, but this strainer goes a week or so between cleanings. If you have a strainer with just circular holes and it's clogging frequently, you'll appreciate how much less maintenance this strainer requires. FYI I removed the center bar in my original strainer (using a small grinding wheel) but left the tabs on the ends. This made it easier to clean the strainer while still keeping it from falling through the drain pipe. I haven't done that with this strainer yet but may do so if cleaning becomes tedious.
