Nice ear buds a bit fragile
I have this ear-bud for about 2 weeks. I'd say I love the bass-booster, especially comparing with the original iPhone ear-bud. I also own a sony MDR-7506 (the studio headset) and i'd say the skullcandy is really not bad at all. The noise canceling might not as good as the sony headset, so it's not like really really quiet but it does cancel the surrounding noise which I think perfect for using outside while travel ro walking on the street. I think it would be dangerous if you walk with a very good noise-canceling head set.For the bass, I'm a bassist and i've been playing for almost 10 years so i don't know if it might be the fact that I hear the bass quite clear with this ear-bud however, I think it's a very useful gear to have when i try to learn a new song. It really digs up the bass that's buried behind all those synthesizer. The main reason I bought this ear-bud is to use with my iPhone and the mic is great, I don't get any complain about unclear voice when i'm talking, yet.The only complain I have is that for 2 weeks I didn't expect any problem but all of the sudden the sound that comes out from the left ear-bud is softer than the right one (At first I thought there's a problem with my ears but I tested with a different headset and it's the skullcandy that has a problem). I requested a replacement with amazon and the new one is coming soon I hope there wouldn't be any problem with it again.NOTE:don't forget to regist your product because they have a life time warranty and you will also receive a code for 15% discount to use with the skullcandy website.

Excellent first impression
It takes a while to know whether headphones will turn out a winner in daily use. Phones that sound great out of the box can just fail. Other sets will take a while to break in, but perform like champs ad infinitum.I had to buy iPhone-compatible earbuds to replace some that were stolen. ( JBuds J3M Micro Atomic In-Ear Earphones with Microphone (Jet Black, iPhone Compatible ). Those were my first ever in-canal earphones, and were a significant upgrade over the stock iPhone earphones. The FMJs are currently cheaper than those j3Ms here on Amazon. They come with a couple extra sets of Comply foam tips (which, depending on the retail outlet, can run you about $10). They sound good. And the cord noise while walking is much less than I encountered before. After these burn in, and have taken the ride into work a few dozen times, I intend to update. But these certainly make a good first impression.

Failed on me too early.
I've had these headphones for only two months now, and they break on me. I take care of my headphones, and carefully place them in my pockets so that the wires or connections will not get damaged. One afternoon, they broke on me from a normal routine return back home, "jumping" out of the subway. Apparently the place that it was affected is the area where the headphone jack and the headphone's wires meet. Some fiddling causes music to return to the left earbud, but I don't want to deal with this everyday so I'm hoping the warranty will get me something better.I used the FMJs almost everyday, whether it was going to college or to a friend's house. Had hoped they would last me longer than my Ink'd Buds. The Ink'd Buds lasted me around 4 times as long, where I had them for 8 months before the same problem occurred. And those earbuds took a LOT more wear and tear. But these, which have braided cables and what looked to be a more solid feel tell me otherwise.Overall the headphones sounded pretty good despite their horrible lifespan. The Mic was responsive and the button control worked very well with my android phone. But, I guess that's why there's a new product from this line. Not going to use Skullcandies ever again, they always seem to break on the same spot every time, no matter what product line they are. I'm heavily disappointed in this flaw of Skullcandy in general. I'll check out how much better Sennheiser's or JLab's headphones are.

Excellent for casual listening
Considering they were on sale for about half price, I bought 2 pairs of these, intending to give one to a friend for his birthday. Unfortunately, when I opened my set, after wearing them for just a few days the left earbud became substantially quieter than the right. I think this is because I listen to my music quite loud on occasion, and I hear listening to non-burned-in earbuds at high volumes can damage the drivers. Busted out the second pair, burned them in for about 40 hours, and they've worked fine for 3 weeks now. They came in a nice packaging, just as advertised, with 6 rubber gel tips and 4 comply foams, plus a little drawstring bag to keep them in. I personally bought a hard case, and used the bag to store the spare tips in, putting them into the bag every time you want to put them away is a little tedious.Beautiful, beautiful shiny product, and mostly comfortable. My only(slight)objection would be with the gels, Skullcandy gels tend to aim more for durability than flexibility, and though the small gels are too small for me, the mediums are just slightly too big and tend to slip out of my ears after about a half hour of use. The cord seems quite durable, and while it's stiff at first it softens up reasonably quickly. The connection points are housed in plastic and then aluminum, and I forsee no problems with them breaking.Sound quality is pretty good, and excellent for the price. I'm no real audiophile, and usually listen to plain old mp3s, and these buds work just fine, especially for rock and metal, where I'm finding myself discovering new nuances in some of my favorite songs. Bass is good and vibrant but not overpowering, the middle range occasionally gets squished in really bass-heavy music, but usually bass-heavy music doesn't use a lot of middle-range tones anyway. Highs shine clearly, especially electronic style sounds.Overall, treat these right and they'll work beautifully. They're well made and have excellent sound quality, for the price these are a must buy.

Great value for money
You will struggle to get anything better for the money. Of course there are better, but not at this price. I have two observations however; firstly using them while making calls is weird because they are noise blocking, and it makes you sound funny to your self. Secondly; they are metal, and I leave them in my car, and I work in the Middle East, and every now and again I forget that they are going to be hot and pop them straight into my ears.... a very interesting experience I can tell you.For music though, they are plenty good. And as yet they have not been affected by the rough treatment they have had, especially the odd tug here and there.Would I buy them again.... hell yes.

Not worth the money...
I bought these because I was looking for something to replace the Sennheiser CX 300 I've had for a couple of years. The main selling point for me was the built in mic, as I've just bought an iPhone. Unfortunately I didn't get on with them because they weren't comfortable to wear (they didn't seem to want to stay in my ears) and the sound was nowhere near as good as the Sennheisers - it was all booming bass and no mid range. I've gone back to the Sennheisers...

Very pleased - comfort for small ears
Bought these to replace the std headset that came with my phone. Love them - I have small ears and find the small buds included in the package a perfect fit. Way more comfortable than standard apple ones!
